Horribly unclose shave. I've used it for about a year and the shaver is real bad.

I had my Braun 340 for approximately 14 months. It was understandable when I had to replace the foil blade and head, and the wet/dry feature was nice, but about 21/2 months ago, the on/off switch started malfunctioning. The razor, either in the charger or out would come on by itself (wouldn't that have been nice if it had done that in my suitcase when I was flying. They probably would have diverted the flight because of a bomb scare). Finally, it wouldn't come on at all. It is now at a service center where they have quoted me a repair price that is $25.00 more than what I paid for it. No thank you. Back to my Philips/Norelco.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to have received this shaver from Braun. I am a busy individual who is always looking to save time in the morning. I also have very sensative skin. Braun is a brand with a strong reputation for innovative products and my expectations were sadly not met with this product. The shaver does not provide a close consistent shave. It does not cut the hair consistently, forcing me to go over the same spot several times which causes major irritation. I have a 10+ year old Norelco Cool Skin electric shaver in which the blades have never been changed, that produces a closer shave. I ended up cleaning up my face with my old shaver because there were so many stray hairs remaining. The shaver left my face blotchy and red with random patches of hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having a poor experience the first time I used the product, I did not want to give up on it, hoping I would have a better experience under different circumstances. The first time using this product, I had shaved dry, in the morning after having not shaved for 24 hours. The razor left my face with patches of hair and extreme irritation from having to repeatedly shave the same areas over and over. I ended up having to use a regular razor and shaving cream to clean up the mess. The next time I tested the product was after I had already shaved for the day. I have a heavy beard and a noticeable 5:00 shadow at the end of a work day. I decided to use the product to touch up my 5:00 shadow. Once again, the product failed to meet my expectations. It does not cut the hair consistently, leaving stray hairs and patches unshaven. In addition to the poor performance, the shaver makes a mess. It does not hold the hair clippings very well because upon finishing, the sink is covered in trimmings. I would not recommend traveling with this product or using on the go as it will make a mess in your car, suitcase, etc.

It is a beautifully designed piece of machinery, but it doesn't shave nearly as well as a disposable safety razor. It left me with razor burn, ingrown hairs, and pain from hairs being pulled out of my face instead of cut off. I received the shaver free as a testing trial sample from Braun. Even with it being free it will be sent to be recycled or, perhaps, used to remove lint pills from my clothes. It's that bad. Sorry, Braun. This was an epic fail.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i think that Braun Series 3-3040 needs alot of improvement. i didnt get a close shave, even after going over it several times i still had stubble. i didnt try to wet yet due to the fact alot of reviews say it cuts you if u do it wet. i'll try it but im scared right now to do so. i believe that it left you with a clean shave that this razor would be great. its easy to clean. easy to charge. holds a charge really good. isnt to heavy or anything. i gave it 1 star because it just doesnt shave like it should.

All I can say is thankfully it came with a free gillette razor. I just spent 30 min shaving with this. If you like a patchy beard or you have a little princess beard this tool is for you. Cuts for about half an inch then plugs up doesn't cut all the hair even after multiple passes. I have razors that are 5+ years old that work better then this

Don't waste your money, Don' gift this product if its on sale. This electric razor is JUNK! Yes it is what it is. Worst $60plus dollar investment in my life. The first time I used it I was impressed, 2nd time I used it I thought hey whats going on. I cleaned it. Yes the top pops off that Pop goes the Weasel to disclose no capture for shaved hair so when you blow it you go blind. lol and all you see is this thin double sided razor. Trust and believe it goes down from here. you have to have it on continuous charge or its DEAD. The last time I saw this razor it was sailing into the trash can. AGAIN THIS PRODUCT IS JUNK. I've been a Mach 3 shaver for that past 10 years and I decided to buy an electric razor in the hopes of saving time and effort. I found that this performed well enough on my cheeks and chin though I had to use multiple passes. However it has real issues with shaving my neck, multiple passes in different directions and it still left patches. I wound up spending more time shaving and the results were embarrassing.

I decided to try out this style of razor hoping to get a closer shave than my old Phillips electric shaver with the circular head however this shaver takes even longer to shave and leaves patches even after multiple passes.
