Disappointed

I bought this about a year ago but didn’t use it too much at first, finally started using consistently about 6 months ago and worked fine until last week it started blinking orange. Followed instructions to fix, called tech support, got a replacement and the replacement doesn’t work! Have had the hardest time with this machine I’m about to switch back to Keurig. For the price I shouldn’t have these issues especially with a brand new replacement.

Meh.

I've had two of these machines. The first I purchased. I cleaned it every week and always ejected the pod immediately. The impeller would sometimes jam up, but found a wonderful video on YouTube that taught me how to clear it. That worked swimmingly for a time and I thought I had successfully avoided the Next curse that everyone else seemed to be talking about. Nope! It finally had an error that could not be fixed, no matter how hard the CS tech tried. They sent me a new machine. It worked wonderfully for about two months. Then we unplugged it and set it aside to renovate our kitchen. When we went to install it on my new coffee station... dead. Not even a little dead. Would. Not. Turn. On. At all. I went out and bought the Vertuo Plus that day at the urging of my husband and will never look back. The Plus is just a better design (one-touch auto open/close; bigger reservoir that can be placed on either side) and seems to be more reliable mechanically. It's not that much of a price difference from the Next.

sleek, but loud and back luck so far

Got this machine last Christmas from in-laws. I have enjoyed the coffee and espressos it produces. However that said I have had issues. 1. it is very loud which is livable but just a little dissapointed 2. the first machine I had just completely stopped working and would not power up. I went through with Support and they could not fix so they replaced with a refurbished machine. (good response and good customer service) 3. would have given more starts but wanted to give the refurbished machine a chance and well here we are 1 Month into the new machine and it is leaking from somewhere and now I will have to call back and go through the whole process again for a third machine. ;(

Dissapointed

I bought this because I wanted a larger cup of coffee and thought I would also have a greater variety of coffees from which to choose. Thankfully, I held on to my original Nespresso machine because I am not impressed with this machine (Vertuo Next). It's very loud, and I don't like having to move the handle at the top to open the machine lid in order to put the coffee pod in, and then press and hold it down the lid to move the handle again to lock it. If it's not locked properly, the coffee does not brew. I probably should have purchased the Vertuo Plus which is automatic. I just didn't realize the difference until I used it the first time. It also is not made as well as my original machine.

Not worth it

Do not recommend this model, stops working frequently. Has given us trouble ever since we bought it a year ago.

Buy a different machine!

I am currently shopping for a new vertuo machine because I have so many pods left, and this machine broke on me. I got this machine a little over a year ago (just past the warranty) and it stopped brewing coffee. The light doesn't even turn on anymore when I plug it back in. I talked to the service people and they told me to descale it even though it does not even suck up water! I am unbelievable disappointed in Nespresso for still selling this machine since I hear so many people complaining about this machine. Save your money and get a different machine! This will barely last a year! I am not a person to overuse the machine either, I used it at most once a day and it still broke. For the money you pay for this machine, it should last more than a year. I have a 8 year old Keurig that is still running. Again I am so disappointed in Nespresso I truly loved this machine until it broke on me!

Drinks aren’t hot enough

I love how compact and convenient this machine is, but I find that it doesn’t heat the coffee to the right temperature. It’s too cool! I wish I knew how to make the coffee hotter and then it would be perfect.

Went through two in six months

Within months of owning our machine we started receiving the red light and it wouldn't brew a cup of coffee whatsoever. After cleaning/ descaling and troubleshooting with tech support, they sent us another machine. After 6 months that machine started to do the same thing and also was leaking coffee from the bottom of the machine. Needless to say they are sending us another type of Vertuo machine and we hopefully will have better luck with it. It was wonderful when it did work!

Disappointing when compared to the Vertuo Plus

Bought a Vertuo Plus about 4 years ago and have loved it! Decided to get a Vertuo Next. The Next is MUCH louder than the Plus, and the crema is not nearly as good when compared to what the Plus produced. With the Next, the crema dissipates within a minute or two. Very disappointed as one would think the next generation machine would be better. I should have purchased a Vertuo Plus again

Nice coffee but questionable machine

I too have had issues with the Vertuo next machine. Initially it would not dispense coffee but would run a clean cycle. Then it started to flash orange on the button. After cleaning/ descaling it worked once then stopped. I repeated the descaling process. Finally, I had to troubleshoot with tech support. During this support the machine went into red mode. Another machine is being sent as they think it is the capsule reader. After reading these reviews I am nervous that this second machine will not work properly as I have been told there is only 6 months warranty on the new machine. (My original started misbehaving after 11 months and finally died after 13.5 months). I only use the machine 3-4 times a week and expel capsule after use and clean regularly, so I was surprised that it broke so quickly. I liked the coffee when it worked, and I do think tech support were helpful but there does seem to be a common trend (breaks a lot) with this machine. Fingers crossed for a reliable second machine.
