Pros: small and portable, worked well on hard surfaces Cons: not enough power for carpet, dust attachment not effective, not great at picking up cat litter, does not replace need for larger vaccum, only comes with one attachment This is a cute little handheld vacuum that would work well for a quick mess, cleaning your car or getting into grooves or edges your real vacuum can't get to. Might also be ok for a dorm room. However, not suitable for "whole home" vacuuming, and did not work well for us with three cats.

The suction power is weak and it clogs very easily. It seems to be made specifically for very lite crumb spills and not for anything larger.

It was ok at first but now it has little to no suction. I’m so upset I splurged on this. Not happy at all with this purchase.

It picks up a little. Really small stuff. But the suction power is lacking and the flap to the canister makes it so that anything bigger than a pea just falls right back out. Kind of feels like a waste of time. I’d be better off just picking stuff up by hand.

Compared to a 25-year old Black&Decker handheld vac which I still own, this Dirt Devil isn't worth half the sales price. It picks up debris only 60% of the time, so you'll find yourself going over the same spot repeatedly just to pick up a little piece it missed the first time. Works worse over ribbed carpets, so the temptation is to jab at the carpet to loosed embedded particles. Then when it does pick up what it's supposed to the filter quickly gets clogged so you'll need to clean it more often. Would be better if there were some lever on the outside (as with the B&D unit) to scrape the filter without having to open the device. The extendable crevice tool might be nice, but it gets awfully jammed with debris, even collecting in a pocket on the inside (see pic). The pivoting dust brush might also be useful except that it becomes loose after a month and falls right off during use. It is also located so far away from the motor that it simply sweeps dust aside rather than pick it up. In a nutshell, this unit will bedevil your peace of mind; do yourself a favor and look for something more productive and less aggravating.

No suction and small canister! I would return it if I could, the nozzle is too thin. Got a replacement on Amazon that was not name brand that is better!

The suction is not great on this. I wish I had just spent a little bit more money to get a better quality one.
