AVOID

The media could not be loaded.  Okay so I'm a few hours out of the box and needed to start my review now..I'll be updating this review as time carries on.Out of the box...I went with the Pro Beetle because it stated it got more range for my buck and I wanted the best one. So this review is for the more pricey pro model. So... to start off. I bought the green one. Let me tell you there is nothing really green about it. I will contact the company later to inquire why my bike straight up looks powder blue no matter what lighting it's in. They could really afford to change that color to seafood if anything. Nit a big deal but haf I known I'd have opted for pink or white since it hardly looks even a smidgen green.Anyway. Set up wad meh. Everything ran smoothly till the last screw. The threads of the screw got damaged as I tightened the last bold to the handlebar area. Sadly there is no way to remove it so it sticks there not fully in. Not a big deal but could have used better metal for them screws.It wad at a 60 percent charge out of the box so I let it it to 80 and took her out for a 2 mile spin. I came back and the battery life was at 66. Not too bad but I'll be pushing that battery life to the limit once I'm at a full charge and report back.The ride. Not terrible at all. I wad easily reaching the max speed of 15 and felt a few spots of drag going on small inclines. Not too bad though. If anything I dropped speed by a few knots.The app was a pain to figure out but I realized why some folks are not getting their ride history is because you must have your phones Bluetooth and location set to on. Battery hogs however. But if they're not on you won't get a reading. So if you want that feature turn them on...on your phone ! Easy fix.The cons... the one con so far was a lack of instructions on how to turn the front light on. Mine didn't turn on so I am not are how to activate it? Maybe it comes on at night with a sensor. I don't know.The other con was that I wish the bike came with mirrors. I switch lanes and didn't like having to turn to look behind me. I purchased some mirrors but the company could have easily added then considering how pricey this bike is.I scooted around with my son which added a bit more weight. Battery life is effected by your weight. I weigh under 220 but with my son with me I'm sure we maxed it. He weighs 50. The battery drained by a few more knots but hardly.Update... I wad able to add my own wicker basket that i found here on Amazon. Way cheaper than the teeny one they try to sell separately. The one draw back is it covered the light a little. Doesn't matter much to me though because I don't ride at night and I can't figure out how to turn it on anyway. Haha.More to come....So far I love the bike. The look is fun and I'll use it mostly for local commute.The one other con wad the foot pedal area where your feet got mine won't lock tight Soni contacted the company and will update how well customer service gets this resolvedUpdate... the company is flat pit refusing to resolve the issue with the foot pedal not sitting flush or locking proper. Their solution is to send the entire bike back instead of just sending me a foot rest that is not a defect. Don't buy from this company. This entire process has been a nightmare. It's been over a week now woth back and forth troubleshooting over a piece of plastic that won't cost but 10.00Because of this I'll probably be setting up a return with refund and buy another bike. The battery life is crap..said up to 25 miles or something on the pro. I'm lucky I get 5 on a full charge. TrashUpdate 3.... got even worse. Customer service is terrible. I simply needed a new foot rest because mine is defective. Instead of sending the part they want me to return it for a replacement. The entire bike! Hogwash! There is no return for replacement and after the sale the price went up by 249.00 so they basically want me to return it and pay an additional 249.00 for a new one. This is disgusting.Besides that... took it on a 2 mile run today and the battery went from 100 to 60. I guess I'll just be returning it and buying a whole new model because this pro model definitely will not get you a 25 mile range at all. Not even close. It is sooo slow going up small hills too. I'm sad I have to return it but at this point ots for the best. Terrible customer service. Clearly no warranty on defective parts ...don't waste your time with it. If the pro model is this terrible I cannot even imagine how bad the regular one isUpdate November 10th... 10 days after returning still no refund. Amazon said it can take 30 days for a refund even though they got the item I'm being billed. I had to dispute the charges. Hopefully amazon moves faster now because this is unacceptable!Never again with an oaki productUpdate... do nit buy and return. I had to open a dispute because Amazon wanted me to wait 30 days to see my refund. I wad already being billed so I had no options and disputed with my card. I charged 550.88 to ny card and another 100.00 was an amazon giftcard. Amazon is refusing to refund the guftcard because a rep said I damaged the item. This is a filthy lie and the reason it was returned was because it was damaged. I'm not sure if the seller is telling lies or what but I am out a guftcard of100$ because Amazon says giftcards are non refundable..I have contacted the BBB and attorney General and next will be news 12. This has been the most disgusting transaction ever. Avoid this bike like the plague. It's garbage. You dont even get 6 Mike's out of it and the foot rest is defectiveUpdate... took approximately 3 months to get a full refund and fighting with Amazon. Apparently the seller of this bike lied and said I damaged the bike. Disgusting. Wouldn't even answer basic question...why did you LIE? I did get a refund but ONLY because I disputed with my card and got the attorney General to force up the money. I purchased the pro model and see they still lie in advertising. Months and months later this gross company KNOWS the pro model does not and never will get 30 miles per charge. More like 7. If you're lucky. I hope this company folds and i pray this review helps buyers make the proper decision to AVOID it. I suggest a beautiful eleteic scooter from SOHO once I got my refund I bought from them and it's been fabulous.

Defective Scooter and Company will not pay to box the item for return shipping $133

I bought this scooter back in November, 2022. It would not work out of the box. I tried to work with this company regarding the fact that the battery would not charge. They sent me a new charger - didn't work, then a new battery, again didn't work. Offered to transport the bike to them to their warehouse to replace with new bike. They declined, but said I could send it back to them to be fixed. I felt that I bought new bike, and didn't want it fixed. After two months (November - January) I decided that I would return the bike since it didn't work, for my money and advised them. They sent a UPS shipping invoice - but no boxing materials. I had the item and parts sent boxed and returned to them. They refused to pay boxing costs - over $133.00. They are now refusing to pay boxing costs. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO GET IT TO THEM WITHOUT A BOX? I bought the protection insurance. It was still under company warranty. Good luck to those trying to buy this item.

2 Strikes and you're out.

This is my second scooter that doesn't work. The first one would not power on at all. I contacted Okai customer support and walked through a number of steps with no luck. I finally gave up and shipped that one back and reordered a new one right away. The new one arrived and didn't initially do anything so I plugged it in and the display turned on displaying 63. After charging for an hour it only got up to 66. I brought it into the house to charge as it was in the 40's in the garage where it was charging. Since unplugging it I can not get the display to turn on again.After taking over a month to get the first one; I have received two defective units and my daughter still doesn't have a working birthday present.

very very very baad service

I bought a scooter from okai, it failed on the 2nd day, I wrote to okai, they gave me a barcode, and I shipped it. A full month passed, I called every week, I sent an e-mail, and finally the scooter came, they changed the broken iron on the front side with brown. It was faulty, it wasn't working. At the moment, they didn't fix it, they ate my 1 month and stole their iron.

Damaged/Used

This is what I received. I requested a reduction in my pricing and I have not received a response. My file is to large to submit for a refund. This was one issue the others include not being able to install the app and the scooter cutting off in the middle of the road. I have contacted Amazon, the seller and the OKAI manufacturer.

Terrible, it came and broke right after.

I was expecting something at least functional for the price I paid, but this scooter just looks nice in the picture and doesn’t work in real life. The lock on the base broke right after I opened the box, then some of the pieces started falling apart. The sis never stays straight, it moves all the time and is very unsecure. Feels like its going to break anytime you are using it, it doesn’t even stand a bump. Felt my money just lost.

Uncomfortable seat

It’s cool looking but the seat is very uncomfortable. Don’t even try to go over any road bumps either..
