Finally, a full-fledged smartwatch worth buying.

The Galaxy Watch Active2, is one of the best purchases that I've ever made in wearable technology. It delivers with more than adequate battery life, far superior comfort when compared to other products, a feature set that will appease most so-called "Geeks" such as myself, and the availability to add more features and/or applications via the Galaxy app store. The new customizable watch face feature makes the creation of customizable watch faces easy and simple. With just a snap of your clothing, and multiple watch faces are created for you that match your outfit. I also appreciate the much slimmer and sleeker design, when compared to the regular Galaxy Watch. With that, I can confidently say that (at least in my opinion) the Watch Active2 is the most fashionable, functional and flexible. (The Three Fs, as I call it.) It is fashionable, due to its sleek glass, (in my case) aluminum housing, and unobtrusive thickness that is no thicker (if not, thinner) than your average premium analog watch. It is functional, due to the fact that you have all the basic necessities that any digital watch should have PLUS, step tracking, workout tracking, heart rate monitoring, upcoming electrocardiogram capability, text messaging, the ability to accept, decline, and create phone calls, pay for things using Samsung pay, find your phone, the creation and cancellation of alarms and reminders, the ability to check the weather, and have music playback controls (also including track selection), just to name a few. (And I don't think I really need to explain why I think it's so flexible). 😉 And just to mention other things I love about the Watch Active2, I love the touch bezel (which is much better than you think it is), I love the SAMOLED display that by default automatically dims to fit the environment that it's in along with providing smooth animations, I love the now larger back button so you can tell that it's different if you're in the dark, I love the ability to triple click the apps/home button to send a message to your emergency contact(s), and so much more. Now here's the part where I would usually explain the cons of the watch/device. But there was an issue, I struggled to come up with any. I would usually have a very long laundry list of cons, but I really don't have any. The only part I can say is a con, is that some people aren't satisfied with the accuracy of the health tracking features. Maybe it's just me, but I really haven't had any. The lack of feminine health tracking might be a con to some women, but I'm not female, so... That doesn't apply to me... That's all I can really say. So in the end, if you are currently looking for a smartwatch to go with your Android device, then I say you should absolutely go with this one. It has many a feature that the competition do not supply, has great battery life, a digital rotating bezel that is the best way to interact with it, a decent amount of customization, and health tracking that I believe to be accurate. (Disclaimer: I am not a health professional by any means, and therefore I am not the first person you should listen to when it comes to advice about health tracking). So, I say it is a very worthy purchase. And I am enjoying my time with it.(Leather watch band pictured: Fullife hybrid Coffee Suede Leather watch band)(Screen protector pictured: LK [6-Pack] TPU)

Worth the money.

I was on the fence about buying this compared to one like the fossil gen 5, since I don't own a Samsung phone (still sporting the LG G5) and I have zero regrets.First off, pairing was a little difficult. I assume it was because my phone is so old. You have to download Samsung's wearable app to pair. It kept getting stuck at the almost there screen. I'd turn off my phone, the watch, restart, try again. Took little over an hour, but I finally got it buy going into my Bluetooth settings and making it pair. Again you might not have this problem, the G5 is like 5 years old. It's easy to navigate. I get text alerts, can respond from my watch, emails, Facebook, and whatever else I like. Hint, you have to give permission under the Samsung app to allow these to push to your watch or to deny. Also, it wouldn't push texts, but that was because I had my phone on do not disturb. Easy fix. Bluetooth range is good. I work in a metal shop and can walk to the other side without it cutting off from my phone. Which is nice. This thing tracks sleep, steps, kcal's burned. Even has a variety of workouts build in so while your at the gym, it's gonna count your reps. And just so your aware, it might say 90 Cal's burned, that's during whatever activity you set it on, not daily. To see all calories burned, swipe over to the heart and scroll down.I like the way it looks. Clean, sleek. You can have always on display, or have it come on by raising your wrist, or by tap. And there's a ton of watch faces, just be aware they are not all free.Battery life is good. Mine has constant heart monitoring on, GPS, and I use it daily for working out. So it usually gets charged every 3-4 days. You can set it to good night mode so it's not bothering you while you sleep, but it still tracks your sleep patterns. Also has a find your phone option, which I like. I was jealous my wife's Apple watch did that, now I can do it to. And it has find my watch from within the app. It's also able to play YouTube or surf the web. Though the screen is small, it's still pretty cool. Especially while your at work and don't want the boss to catch you watching cat videos on your phone. The voice assistant is no Alexa, or Google assistant, but it works. Sometimes I have to repeat myself but that may be bacause of my environment or my southern accent. All in all I'm happy with it. I'm still learning about it, but hopefully this helps you decide what your next smart watch purchase will be.Have a great day and thanks for reading.

Great Watch But "Watch" Your Expectationss

This a great watch. Stylish, light, nice features. I can't understand all the whining about health accuracy. To compare it to a strap on heart monitor or some more focused sports Watch, some that cost $500 or more, is just ridiculous. It's a general nice Watch. It won't replace your phone or pc so stop expecting that level.I suspect that alot of complaints are due to the fact you're not using a Samsung phone. I have a S20FE 5G and they work great together..If you are into serious fitness get something better than this. A Watch 3 or an apple watch are no better neither is a Tic watch etc. I've tried them out. For relative measurements its fine. I walk, run and do some basic fitness. Use it alone and don't try to compare it to another device and complain. Yes the sleep monitor can be off but my last watch, including trying an apple, was not always on target. Maybe that's a moving around thing. I'm a restles sleeper.ProsLight and stylishPlenty of Watch facesGood features, decent amount of sports activities.Great for the average personBP feature is within a point or 2 of a cuffCan receive make callsLinks with your email accts, get alerts and text messaging and you can respond.Even can view you tube and internet links like yahoo news and Google search.ConsFirst use a Samsung phone for full features i.e. ECG .won't work on a plain android or apple. I have a S20FE 5G. A match made in heaven.Limited apps but sufficient. ifyou are younger, you want all those media apps. Alot aren't available Does have Spotify.Short battery life , I get 2 -3 days, 1 day if use it alot. Better than an apple or watch 3.Can't change sedentary alerts just can shut it off BP feature is linked to a study that requires 3x a day checks and all these tests. Just give me a BP app.Sleep app isn't always on target but then again I've had an issue with other watches.A bit long hope this helps.

Overall I love this watch

I was really on the fence about getting this smartwatch, but I am ultimately very happy with it.Pros:I recieve all of the notifications from my Pixel 3 XL.My Google Calendar appointments are all on the watch calendar.Samsung Pay works great.I really like S-Health.Battery Life is excellent (If it is fully charged at 8 AM, I will usually wake up at 6 AM the next day with about 75% battery left. That is with continuous heart rate, screen not always on, WiFi turned off). It takes about 40 minutes to get it back to full (which is prety slow). But I could easily go a couple of days with my usage.Cons:The app store is mostly watch faces. The apps that Samsung shows on the product page are pretty much it. There are some from some unknown devs, but I am not sure how much I trust them.No Google appsTouch Bezel is really a gimmick. The battery charges slooooow (2+ hours from zero to full)Conclusion:Overall, I love this watch. The lack of apps is not a big deal to me because I have my phone nearby for those instances. If I were getting the LTE version of this watch, I might feel otherwise, but with the Bluetooth only version, this is only a petty concern (to be honest, I don't think the WearOS devices have many meaningful apps). The lack of Google Play Music kind of sucks, but again, I have it on my phone which is right there (and I can control it from my watch). Also, it would have been nice to be able to use my Google Pay account since it was already set up, but Samsung Pay works well, so not that big of a deal. The one thing that was a real disappointment was the touch bezel. I always liked the rotating bezel on the Galaxy Watch. The tough bezel does not work as well. More of a gimmick to satisfy the people who love the rotating bezel.Overall, for my purposes this watch is great. I especially love the battery life that I get out of it and the ability to use Samsung Pay.Update 1/20/2020: I am still loving this watch. This weekend I or the battery to the test. I fully charged it in Friday morning and did but have to charge it again the entire weekend (see screenshot). Still had plenty of battery life this morning.

An Impressive Samsung product to say the least

I had owned a cheap smart watch before buying this one and was kind of a skeptic, but decided to buy this one when it was on sale and all i can honestly say is "Wow."Truthfully I had to adjust to it at first since i dont own a Samsung phone, I use this with a LG G8x thinq. After installing the app and updating the watch, i can genuinely say that i love this watch. The convienece of answering calls, texts, having media controls, and having workout trackers is great. With texts i can quickly see who it was and read the message and respond without ever having to grab my phone.Media control was a big thing for me too, I listen to spotify at work everyday for hours on end and being able to have precise volume control (even though I can guess and adjust through my headphones) is nice.Cons:Now honestly as great as this watch is, the battery life can be a drawback as you need to charge it every few days if you are using the watch heavily. This was more of a personal one, but the sleep tracker isnt a favorite of mine either, for some people it has been great. But it can be slightly uncomfortable to sleep in so i reccomend taking it off. And i tend to move a lot when I sleep and it shows that I am awake when with other watches like fitbit it has shown me to be asleep so it seems just a bit unreliable for my taste.Besides that, I dont have many more complaints. I have big wrists so tge 44mm looks a tad undersized but I still use this watch daily and look forward for years of use. Should anything else arise this will be updated.

I LOVE Samsung Galaxy!!

So first off, I was looking for a new fitness tracker after I gave up on Polar. I gave them a good shot and was fed up. So when I came across this watch and realized I have a Samsung galaxy s9 I was like "huh..why not".I really only needed a watch for tracking my running. A nice added feature is the sleep monitor. I didnt care too much about that but after syncing with the Samsung health app on my phone I was intrigued by how much I could learn about my sleep patterns through this watch. I love that I can see the weather and check the forecast on my watch without needing my phone, like when I'm at work. It's so cool that I can track my period on this thing! I had no idea it did so much. I also didn't realize I could get calls and texts which I tuned off anyway, because I dont really want that stuff coming through bothering me while I'm running. I had no clue it could play music through spotify and can even show my caloric intake for the day through the app. I mean I am in love. I am so happy I went with this watch. It is worth every penny if you are active, health conscious or just a Samsung person. It has many cool features I didnt realize it had. I still find out new features every so often. For someone who is indecisive it's really nice that I can change the watch face often and customize them or buy one for 2 bucks. I just love it.If I could change/add one thing it would be to be able to scan the food for my meals through the app instead of having to put them in because they dont have everything and it would be more accurate to have a barcode scanner to find the food that way.Regardless, I'm ready to leave my boyfriend and marry this watch. It's the best.

long battery life

I replaced my Asus zen3 watch with the Samsung Active 2 watch primarily for longer battery life, swim safe, and pulse monitoring. So far it has lived up to expectations. Finding your app on the phone is much easier than with the Zen3 but still a little clumsy. I have spend lots of time in pool with this watch and no problems so far. I use the pulse monitor for workouts which is easier than using a standalone unit. The battery life is a major plus as it can easily go 2 days without a charge and it can do a 75% recharge in about 2 hours. The apps are colorful and easy to read. Responding to texts and emails is very easy. It answers phone calls with a decent speaker and the microphone seems to work well. It has EKG capability which has been approved by Korea and is built into this phone but will not be active until regulatory issues dealt with. It will involve placing your finger on a button which will act as a 1 lead EKG. Overall, this is a great watch. The much more expensive LTE version sounds good but cannot justify especially as you have to get a separate account for it from your cell carrierFinding apps on this watch is not always obvious but once you master them, they are really good. The exercise monitoring functions are great...especially biking and swimming. The biking function monitors heart zones and duration in each zone, milage, speed, and maps your ride on a map and then transfers it all to your phone for storage. Swimming keeps tack of number of laps automatically as well as strokes and calories. It even has a little pump function that pumps water out of the watch after you are done swimming. Bixby is hard coded in but you can ignore it. It displays pictures surprisingly well and music sounds not terrible on its little speaker.

Best attempt at a fluid smartwatch yet.

I bought this smartwatch to replace an older, Fossil WearOS based smartwatch that did not feature heart rate tracking. I don't miss Google's WearOS ecosystem at all. I use a Samsung phone, which makes coordination between the watch and phone nearly seamless.MAIN POINTS:- Battery life is fantastic! With my old watch, I would be around 20 percent with moderate use at the end of the day. This watch, with heart rate, GPS, bluetooth on, moderate usage, puts me at around 80 percent. I charge it every night, but fully believe it would last 4-5 days with moderate usage.- Workout tracking is very easy. There are a few quick workouts to tap and go on a page, but for full tracking you have to go through the Samsung Health app.- Accurate GPS tracking- Touch-based bezel scrolling is innovative, but I prefer swiping through screens (just how I operated with my old watch)- Fast and fluid, have not experienced any slowdowns- Build quality is top notch. This is more or less a flagship device, and feels that way. The watch feels premium, sleek, and doesn't weigh much at all.- Samsung needs to update their Wear app to make settings easier. There are multiple ways to get to settings, and you may get lost looking for what you want. For example, there are settings in the watch menu itself, in the Samsung Wear app, or maybe the app specifically for what you are wanting to change (i.e. heart rate in Samsung Health.) Streamlining will go a long way.- Voice and microphone are good, sound is loud, vibration does a good job notifying you. People I've talked to through the watch could not tell a difference between my phone and watch.Overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase. This watch is next level and checks all of the boxes for things I'm looking for in a smartwatch.

Great watch and a huge advance over Android WearOS

I've had a Huawei Watch running WearOS for around five years. I really liked having a smartwatch (mainly for notifications) but the Huawei battery wouldn't even last a work day anymore (and even when new barely made it a full work day) and was dog slow. I wanted to get another WearOS watch but they're all based on an outdated Qualcomm SoC which makes even a brand new one slow with poor battery life. Since I have a Samsung Note 9 phone, a Samsung watch was the next obvious choice. This 44mm version is FAR lighter than my Huawei watch. I got black because the silver isn't really silver, it's more blue and doesn't match any metal band that I tried. Even this back watch isn't really black. Samsung is trying to be different I guess. Performance is very snappy and notifications work great. The battery lasts two days which is awesome. I'm not sure how tough the glass will prove to be (the Huawei has a sapphire crystal that I never managed to scratch) but so far, so good. The body isn't as tough and I already have a small bright silver scratch on it which is disappointing. At least I can use a Sharpie to touch it up. I can't comment on the fitness features because I don't use them. All in all I'm pretty happy with this watch. It's a huge step up from my old one and the long battery life feels live I've now entered the modern age.
