It will read the temperature immediately (no waiting like other brands) This thermometer is VERY accurate, so no worries! It displays the reading largely and also will light up according to the reading (green-normal, yellow-low grade, and red-fever). I am a mother of multiple children and this is truly the greatest/stress free thermometer!

I have a 2 year old and a 7 year old so this will be perfect for both kids! I can’t speak on the battery life as we just received it but it seems easy enough to change the AA batteries. The cover does not stay on well especially if you are packing this for a trip.

Braun has always been such a reliable brand, I know my parents still have our Braun thermometer from when we were kids!
