It used 2 AAA batteries which will last for a long time. I like that it’s no touch so, I don’t bother my kids when they’re sleeping. The display is bright and easy to see.

You can check their temperature when they’re sleeping without waking them up since it’s no contact. I like the “laser” feature so you can be sure you have it in the right spot to take a temperature.

I love the fact that it is really fast and really accurate and all you have to do is type it up to your babies head and within second gives you the correct temperature on the display screen it let you know the battery life is decent. It comes with batteries, and I love that. It has a little display showing you how to and how to not use the thermometer.
