Good quality umbrella, but you will also need to purchase the plastic base

This is my 4th such umbrella over many years. This one seems very solid and as good as any other I purchased in the past, but what sold me on this one was the wheels on the base, which makes it relatively easy to move it around. When I purchased it, I missed the fine print that says the base is extra cost. I would not have purchased it had I known that. So I bought the plastic base, installed it, filled it with water, and it works well. Overall my cost is higher than one I bought earlier this year from Sams. But there is a water leak somewhere in the new base. unbelievable! I have not had time to figure out details about the leak, but it bothers me this could even happen.

I have a useless umbrella becasue a part is missing.

The bottom is supposed to have a part that the umbrella slides into and can be attached to the base. That part is missing!!!! Thing has been in the box awaiting the base, just got the base now its useless because of a missing part!!!!! I found the attached picture from some other user, maybe that's what's missing.

Not heavy duty

We have purchased two previous offset umbrellas in the past ten years that we replaced due to fading. We paid far more for this umbrella. We weighted it with 200 lbs of weight per our previous umbrellas. The second day we had it up, a gust of wind blew it over, breaking one of the ribs. If we had not had past experience with other umbrellas, we would have nothing to compare it with. The ribs are not heavy duty. We have contacted customer service. If they are able to send us a new rib which we could replace, or refund our money, we will write a new review giving them credit in that department, but as it stands, we would not buy another one. Hate to write a bad review, but it is the kind of info we wish we had read before we purchased it.

It’s amazing - if there is NO WIND EVER.

What a disaster. Put it up yesterday. And today it is in pieces in the driveway waiting for UPS. Yesterday I LOVED IT. Today, one small breeze and a piece from the part of the inside of the umbrella popped out. Rendered useless. The worst part? Simply cast aluminum. I’m no rocket scientist or manufacturer but in no way was this capable of handling any wind whatsoever with an umbrella that size without steel. I have seen a lot of people complain about the bases. You definitely need the bigger base but that isn’t even the biggest part of problem at all. Umbrellas get “carried away” so easily in the wind. I almost wonder if any cantilever umbrella can do this job at 10 feet wide. So we wanted to close the umbrella after it broke. Couldn’t. Impossible. In order to get this off the deck we had to break it to pieces. The worst part? I’m the weakest person on earth (no joke) and I could easily break it apart. Day one? AMAZING. Day two? No way. It needs to be put together with a heavy metal. And perhaps more vents or another way to keep this thing from blowing crazily in the wind.
