Bench top had a crack. And two of the screws would not go in. They completely stripped out and I had to buy new screws, and new drill bits to get these in. Affordable price and I like how it looks but I’m having to work a lot harder to get this usable than I anticipated. If I can’t get the crack stablized with a bracket or the screws in, I’m going to return the half finished bench to target.

Wood is heavily marred and holes aren't drilled correctly. As you screw things together the screws start tearing through the front finish of the wood!! See pictures. Very disappointed. EDIT: Working with the Seller to return the product and so far that is going well. EDIT: Seller paid for return shipping and a full refund.

The pre drilled holes were not put in the right place. We had to put extra holes in so when you open and close, it wouldn’t rub the arm on the arm of the bench.

It is a very sturdy, nice-looking bench, but unfortunately, the inner bag is not waterproof. I had it zipped all the way up with cushions in it, but everything got wet inside.

The piece is good qualitybut they skimped on the staining. It is adverstised as an outdoor bench so it should come with a clearcoat already applied. I have had it for about 3 months in florida and the finish is already fading it will need to be restained and clearcoat applied for extra protection. Otherwise it serves its purpose.

I had difficulty screwing the seat to the main body. The pre-drilled holes were too small and so I had to re-drill them to make the screws fit. When completed I also noticed that the seat scraped against one of the armrests. However, the materials appear to be made of good quality, and it appears sturdy. And it’s very attractive.

I read other reviews that mentioned broken parts upon arrival. I inspected the box before opening and it was in fine shape, so I thought I had lucked out. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Inside, one of the pieces was broken. It was packed this way. It was a slight crack. Everything else was fine. Assembly was easy. It sits on my front porch. I bought it so I can have deliveries placed inside the box so they are not visible from the street. I do not sit on the bench. The crack is visible but not that big of a deal since no one sits on the bench. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they could not replace the one part that was cracked. They gave me a $100 refund three days later. I am fine with that. I only wanted it to store packages until I got home. For that, it works.

Yesterday, in the middle of assembling this storage bench, I was ready to rate it at 1 or 2. Today, I have calmed down. The final product is very nice to look at and offers good storage room with seating on top. (It is too early for me to opine on durability, weather resistance and so on.) In my experience, all the criticisms of the assembly challenge from other reviewers are right on. The hinges were backwards. I stripped two of the long furniture screws trying to install them. The angle for driving the hinge screws was a headache. I ended up buying several 3 1/2 inch replacement screws (#14 gauge, the biggest they had) and back-up 5/8 inch hinge screws from Ace. (These screws do not match the originals in color nor exact size.) The internal liner is not a serious part of the product, in my opinion. Though it fits fine, it is very lightweight and does not really serve a function.. The instructions were fine, but the hardware was not. The final product is so far, very nice.

This small storage bench, which is sold by Costway by a variety of sellers on Costway, Amazon, Wayfair, and other marketplaces, is of decent quality but may or may not stand the test of time. At $220, it is likely priced correctly for the quality of construction (compared to other models that are $400-600. The wood is on the thinner size which means that it will be more susceptible to weather than heavier pieces and the fasteners are all yellow zinc which is decent protection but are ultimately susceptible to rust depending on your environment and time exposed to direct weather. Assembly is simple though I suggest ditching the 5/32" Allen wrenches and going with an impact driver on a low or moderate setting. The bag is a bit clumsy as the Velcro, which is just stapled onto the wood, that holds it on is right where the zipper is. It is also a thin polyester bag which is not waterproof but rather will bead/repel water until it is saturated and then water will go through. Consider buying a waterproof bag to replace it if you want to keep things dry or as I did, go with a cover to fit over the whole bench. Note that the bench is small. Small meaning that you will not get 2 full sized adults on it but you might get 1 adult and 1 kid, or 2 small adults/teens, or 3 little kids on it. The seating width of the bench is 39 1/4". That is also an odd size as far as cushions go as the smallest bench sized cushion is typically 42".
