Poor battery life & not great at obstacle avoidance

I like the HEPA filtration and self emptying base feature. That said, this vacuum takes 3.5 hours to clean 1,500 square feet, because it has to return to the base to recharge half way through. The self emptying base is nice, and in my opinion required for any robot vacuum. The vacuum itself has a very small capacity. We take shoes off at the door and have it scheduled to clean daily, but between dog hair and dirt that gets tracked in even the base fills up fairly quickly (7-14 days). It does a decent enough job cleaning over a mix of rugs and hard floors. It is not great at avoiding smaller obstacles like dog toys, socks, or phone charging cables though. I know with any robot vacuum you should pick up before sending it loose, but when the thing takes half a day to clean it's very difficult to keep picked up with children and pets. Unless you live in a very sterile home you have to babysit the vacuum. It's not the worst robovac by any means, but it needs improvement. I paid $422 in January 2023 and feel like it's worth closer to $300 relative to other robovacs on the market. The Roborock S7 Max is maybe worth $422 in today's market. All are overrated and overpriced leaving me somewhat disappointed. HOWEVER, at the end of the day I don't need to sweep and vacuum the floors nearly as much saving me an hour or two a week. That's worth something too. As long as it doesn't break in the next five years it will be a good value.

Leaves dock on power out. Traps itself over frame of dining chair.

The media could not be loaded.  The shark is stupid enough that when the power goes out for just a few seconds and of course the internet also goes out too,the leaves rhe dock tries about fifteen times To redock going in-and-out about 15 times Finally ending about nine inches away from the dark paused. It will also stupidly try and go over the metal rim of a one inch frame of a chatrying about ten times sometimes succeeding and then getting itself trapped. Seems to clean ok but takes about four hours and multi recharges using matrix clean to do a 3500 square foot area. No clean zones are not precise like I made for where the chairs are. I made quite a no clean area buffer and it still tries to go over the chairs.

Jury is still out

The main problem is going to be the software. A big problem for me is all of the zones like no go or high traffic have a minimum of 13x13 feet. Day one it broke both of it's spinning brushes off on the bath mats. Just connecting to the internet the prompts and process is not very good. Especially if you need to reenter the password you just keep trying for forever and eventually it lets you. I didn't find the noise isn't as bad at other have said. I won't know about performance until the new parts get in. But yeah not user friendly app in both wording and options. The fact that it has to do an explore run without vaccuming sucks but if the map remains stable that should be ok. Map is full of squiggly lines for the walls at first but it seems to clean up a little in time. Cleaning schedule will only allow one cleaning for one time any day. If you want additional runs you have to tell it manually.*********Now that I've finally gotten the correct side brushes and had it running for a week:It's not as good a clean as the roborock and takes longer but it is less needy. Meaning there are fewer times it gets stuck or wrapped around with fur. I think the collision sensing might even be a little better for dog toys. It is better than a Roomba in that roomba can't clean my dog hair at all and has no collision sensing for the dog toys. So not a high bar there. The reusable dust bin is pretty great. Much easier to use than I expected. I did have a little trouble closing it already after the fourth time so I hope it holds up. Also it does get moved off the charging rather easily.

Robotic vacuum cleaner

I was extremely happy with my shark ninja robot vacuum cleaner received on November 29th 2022. It’s cleaning and mapping abilities was extremely impressive. I only used this device every 3-4 days. I February 20th I turned on the vacuum and all it did was spin around and around. I changed all the parts I could fined per manual of device which was very limited in instructions of where the filters were and how to change them. I blew out with an air device the sensors with no change in the vacuum device going round and round with having no direction. I call the helpline whom looked at the issue and is sending me new robot vacuum cleaner. They were very helpful but now I wonder is this going to be an on going issue and with the new one, I have no insurance on it but the one year warranty.

Just ok

I find that I am getting a dust bin or debris error every other time it runs. It also needs the roller to be removed to clean out hair wrapped around it about once a week. I have it scheduled to run every night so it really isn't that dirty in between.For the same $$ I would buy a Roomba.

Though it cleans thoroughly, I’ve had too many instances of having to troubleshoot. The problem that occurs most often is the shark becoming disconnected from our WiFi which involves several steps and lots of waiting in order to get it back online. That problem seems to arise about once a month. The other problem is that it will randomly turn on in the middle of the night and begin running in a random pattern in our house, banging around hitting walls and furniture. My family and I wake up to what sounds like an intruder and it’s pretty disruptive. I wish it wasn’t so problematic but at this point it’s quicker and simpler for me to just use our cordless vacuum and clean the floors myself.

Unreliable wifi connection

The WiFi will "constantly" (about every two weeks or so) disconnect then seemingly never try to connect again. I'm required to physically turn it off and on again, which kind of defeats the purpose of being connected to the internet. It also seems to not remember the cleaning schedule if the WiFi didn't work, so your floors get dirty again, or in our case dog hair builds up again.As a vacuum cleaner it does better than my older Roomba which just bounced around the rooms never really getting everything. This goes in a somewhat orderly fashion. Though I wish it would finish a room instead of bouncing back afterwards to get the spots it missed.

Just barely not bad enough to keep

After trying to have it map the house 5 times, I finally just gave up and accepted "good enough", even though it's not detecting a wall between two rooms.Although I tell it to clean a specific room, it'll still wander outside of it.When I have it clean the whole house, it'll revisit the same room multiple times instead of going in once, cleaning it and not returningIt doesn't pick up all the dog fur, but it does pick up most.It's pretty loud compared to other robotic vacuums I've tried.I wish it did everything it advertises but it just doesn't, though it does do barely enough to not return it. Definitely, absolutely not worth the price.

Good robot but don't ever change your wifi network

Got a new wifi network in the house and put my robot out of service. No instructions online on changing network information. Called the Shark company just to get some help and all they want to do is data mine. Asked me all kinds of questions that were completely irrelevant to my problem. Finally got fed up and just got right to the point, "how do I get this connected?". He tells me to delete the ronot from the app and start a new one, except that's not working either. I don't need to be put on a sales call list or email blast, just help me fix my problem. I'm just about ready to toss this thing in the trash.
