have wanted one for a while, but had to do a julienne strip too. regular slicing mechanism is great, but the julienne slicer doesnt seem as sharp. but overall a great buy.

For the price and size of the mandolin, it was a great deal. I used it to finely chop potatoes for scallop potatoes. They turned out perfectly! I would definitely recommend this unit for the occasional must have piece of equipment!

Yes, it is plastic, but I am very happy with the way it slices. Easy to store, easy to adjust thickness, easy to remove and wash blade.

I just got this a little over a week ago and have already used it a few times. I love it! I was worried about it after reading reviews about it not being user friendly and taking getting used to. But, I didn't have any issues with it. Slices so smooth and easy! I didn't even read directions yet. Lol. I have only used the straight blade and only sliced so I may have issues when I get into more complicated slicing, but it's great now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the opportunity to use this slicer several times now with good results. The various blades offer many options for different types of slices (differing thicknesses, crinkle cut, julienne) to make quick work of large amounts of produce for chips, summer rolls, stir fries, and other dishes. The slicer produces beautiful, if somewhat uneven results. The slices can vary in thickness depending on the pressure you apply to the items in the hand guard, which is large and is not as suited to holding smaller vegetables like carrots, small beets, and shallots. The prongs are simply set too wide to accommodate these small items. However, it does a great job of holding larger items and its broad coverage always made my hand feel safe.It is a bit cumbersome to change the blades and large to store, but it does offer versatility and precise results. Overall, I like the product and will use it occasionally when I want to go for that wow factor or have a lot of produce to prep, but it won't be in my daily rotation for quick meals and prep jobs.

It thinly and/or evenly slices solid fruits and veggies in a breeze (potatoes, carrots, apples), but it's a little trickier on softer foods like tomatoes. I used it to julienne some carrots for a salad, which was so much more pleasant to eat with thin slices rather than large chunks of carrot. All the blades store sleekly inside the mandoline itself, which makes it nice and easy to store. It comes with a handy little booklet, which tells you how to snap the blades in and out and interchange them, although the illustrations can be a little hard to follow. The dial on the side of the tool allows you to easily adjust thickness, and is color coded to correspond to some of the specialty blades, which is a nice feature. I found the solid slice blade easier to use than the julienne blade (my carrots kept getting stuck!) but it works nevertheless. Ultimately, I'd recommend this tool, but don't rely on it too heavily without practicing some first. It takes some getting used to!

One thing that I wish that it could do is to be able to hold on to food better by utilizing the Food Holder. The food Holder can grasp on to objects like Potatoes, Lemons, and Cucumbers but I don’t think it can withstand holding fruits like Tomatoes. Overall, I would reccomend this Mandoline to everyone that wants to cook efficiently and I wish oxo would make a container for the mandoline too. By having a container to store the food, it’ll become better and more convenient!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a week ago it has four different settings it has four different blades so there's several options to use I used it on a cucumber and Julianne the Cucumber for a Salad Topping and I also used it out of 1/4 inch and it made the Cucumber look like pickles and I liked having the look up made it look pretty I plan on using it to make crinkle cut potato chips and some squash I'm with the straight blade and it was also easy to rinse off the blades I did wish it was easier to get the blades off the Storage as they each have their own little spot definitely read the directions so you know how to get the blades off the storage and back on the storage site I liked the leg cuz it helps you go in a downward motion which makes it easier to cut it is best to read the directions because the the blades are sharp and two help you learn how to get the blades on and off the product on the back side it's where they're stored so I wish there was a way to keep the instructions with the product while you store it away when you're not using it
