quit working after only being used for Less than 2 weeks!!! Don’t recommend

We bought this to replace a fireplace that no longer worked. We selected this because of its measurements. We installed Sunday, finished the surround yesterday. Went to use it this morning as it was 63 in the living room. It will turn on and run for about 15 minutes, shut off but the heating elements won’t come back on. It’s not cycling on and off as it should. Anyone have this issue

In the description of THIS ITEM COSTWAY 28.5-Inch Electric Fireplace Inserts, 750W/1500W Wall Recessedthey state this item is 28.5" in height.... it IS NOT 28.5" in height. Because they misled me, I now have to make an additional panels purchase to cover the space between the 28.5" and the actual height which I believe is somewhere closer to 21". I bought this item specifically because of the listed dimensions. Amazon wouldn't let my first review of this go through because I included a screenshot of their description stating the dimensions.

This did okay for our Tennessee winter but as it is spring now we decided to unplug and close the fireplace, upon checking I noticed our extension cord (rated correctly, and shortest length possible) had melted to the cord. I think the flaw with this heater is the cord needs to be longer. Way longer intact. We were about 2 feet short from our wall outlet which is why we needed the extension. I wouldn’t recommend buying this fireplace to a friend because of my experience.
