I’m a hair stylist that has used this brand for 40 years!! Easy to use and curls great. Just be careful to set temperature so it’s not too hot. I always set at medium.

I ordered the 2" barrel. It's perfect for my long bob. A few things about the iron itself: The barrel is slick--your hair will slip through it smoothly, but it may be hard to get a good grip on it until you get the hang of it; it's a challenge learning to use it, because of its size--nothing to be done about that; and it needs an insulated ring around the bottom of the barrel to keep you from frying your thumb. It seems to cause a little static, which will probably wear off in time. After only a couple of days, it seems to be a good product. Will update if that changes.

My two teenage daughters and I love this curling iron! We bought one last year and it sadly is dying but I call fault on owner because my middle aged child always throws it around. Two of us have course hair and this is the only curling iron that works on us. My oldest daughter has medium to fine hair and curls never wanted to stay until we bought this. It is so easy to use. Doesn't hurt my hands to hold for long periods of time. Easy to curl short hair and just as easy to curl very long hair. Leaves beautiful curls! Do not hesitate to buy this. Always start off on the lowest setting until you get used to it and see how much heat your hair needs.

This item has totally improved my hair styling ability! I always thought I had weird hair. Other people could get their hair to look good, but not me. Now I have hair that looks like the pretty girls'... it only took me 30 years to find the right tool.

Great curling iron, and wonderful thickness. I was going to go with the 1 1/2 but decided to try the 1 1/4 because it seemed like the average size for a big curler. I love it so much though, I may buy a 2 inch barrel for huge curls for some variety. Only thing that occasionally bothers me is that the piece where my thumb rests gets really hot still at the top. I have to make sure my thumb stays on the edge or only halfway up. Not too much of a problem for me though, since I typically only press at the edge. Over all it's a great curling iron and I am happy I chose this affordable brand!

I seriously love Hot Tools brand curling irons, flat irons, and blow dryers. I've purchased "Chi" brand and they are amazing but in my opinion they are overpriced. Hot Tools are so affordable and they get just as hot as the Chi. I manage a Blow Dry Bar and we have purchased several different brands of curling irons and flat irons, our stylists prefer the Hot Tools brand hands down. If you are trying to decide between an expensive curling iron and this one, I would totally choose this one. Im glad I did!!

This thing gets hot fast! I love this curling iron. It took me a while and a few instances of leaving it on for me to remember that it does NOT have an automatic shutoff!!! This can be very dangerous but I think it was made for stylists who want to leave theirs hot all day. Regardless, remember to turn it off when you're done! Some complained that it gets too hot, however, there is a temperature control dial so if you have very fine hair, just turn it down! I happen to have rather thick, coarse hair and generally keep it just shy of the hottest temp. I think this is a great iron and would recommend it to anyone.

I really like this curling iron. It gives the long, full waves that I like. The quality is good -- I've been using it consistently for several months with no problems. People always compliment me on my hair when I use it. My hairstylist, who works in a professional salon, also uses this brand. I would definitely recommend using a heat protectant, just like with any hot hair styling tool, but this won't damage your hair any more than any other iron. It's also nice that you can pick your heat setting, if you want to spare your hair. The swivel cord is extremely convenient. Will definitely buy one of these again if mine ever gives out.

I got this curling iron after I returned my ceramic version of this exact curling iron. I originally got ceramic one thinking it won't damage my hair as much but it turns out that it doesn't curl my hair at all. Well! I absolutely love this curling iron and use it almost everyday. The iron has temperature control so I can adjust it based on what type of curl I want. I bring up the heat is I want a super strong curl and bring down the heat if I want a natural looking waves. I love the fact that it has cord that goes all around so it doesn't get tangled. It's a small thing but it always bothered me so much every time the cord got tangled with my last curling iron. Also, the iron is pretty light so it doesn't hurt my arms as much. I absolutely love it! Give it a try if you are looking for a curling iron that gives beautiful natural curls.

Love my new curling iron is a little bit smaller than I thought because I ordered the wrong size but it still works perfectly. I have very fine hair but lots of it and I love the results of my curl it with this awesome curling iron!
