This is a really good product. I love the ceramic end because hair does not stick to it. WEll worth the money

I love this curling iron. I had been looking for a 1/2" -barrel curling iron but basically gave up because it seemed none of the mainstream stores like Ulta and Target carried anything smaller than a 1-inch barrel. I knew Amazon would solve my problem and it did as I was able to purchase the size I wanted in a brand that I trust. I've had a Hot Tools Professional curling iron in a much larger size forever, so I knew I could trust it. Also, this is the brand the hairdresser I've been going to for over ten years uses. That's how I knew the smaller barrel would give me the cute tiny curls I wanted every once in a while. The iron heats reapidly, and quite frankly, doesn't seem to need recovery time to reheat no matter how many curls I make. The cord is nice and long and is of a nicer, upgraded soft plastic material from that found on my old curling iron of the same brand and also of the 1- inch barrel Conair iron I bought within the last year. Now I wish I had bought that 1" iron in Hot Tools, also.

The most significant reasons why I bought this product are: (1) the vendor supplied the size rod (5/8") I specifically wanted and could not find in local stores, specifically 5/8;" (2) the specificty of temperature range available, allowing me to select what degree of temperature I want to use; for me this was a critical feature because I have fine thin hair and have burned my hair previously using other brands of curling irons; (3) the length of the cord is much londger than you get on cheaper products, it is also very pliable and doesn't crimp; and (4) I like that the iron has an on/off switch which is an excellent feature if you want to keep your iron plugged in, such as in a salon, and not have to unplug it after each use. I liked it so well I bought one for my stylist to use on my hair (and other customers) because she did not have an iron of this size, and I also gifted one to my sister. This is an excellent, commercial grade product for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend it to anyone who curls her own hair.

Bought this to replace my old one that wore out after 11 whole years with it. I love this curling wand it provides the most beautiful, effortless curls that hold well, even the next day curls are flawless, maybe even better looking. Always remember to lightly brush your curls out after they’ve cooled!

I previously had a Bed Head, 1" clipless iron that I bought for $8 at Target on sale. It definitely took practice to get to use well (I burned myself a couple of times), sometimes the curls would fall nicely sometimes not. Overall, I felt the 1" barrel was too thin for my personal tastes, but I could make it work if I tried and had a lot of time to work with it. I don't hate the iron, and I'm keeping it just in case (it can make some nice looks too!), but I wanted a new iron that fit my needs better. I bought this for myself for my birthday, so I could dress up a little and feel fancier while going clubbing or going to special events. I always wanted to curl my hair but didn't feel a curling iron was worth the investment [normally $50-$60 for a better quality iron] for me personally, as I can't imagine curling my hair often. The price of this one was just so great (a little less than $30), I couldn't help myself. Pros: --1 1/4" barrel The curls are exactly what I wanted: voluminous and sexy. If you leave the curler in you hair for less time, you can have cute waves, too. Some styling and you just look like you worked so hard. Having all of the sections in 1" curls was not always flattering on my long (mid-back level), slightly layered hair. It could look a little like a lion's mane haha, if I wasn't careful. Oftentimes I'd pull some back to do a half-up, half-down to make things look better. This 1 1/4" is just so much more ideal for me. [Maybe check Youtube videos and see what girls use when they curl their hair for examples?] --Clip The clip prevents you from using your hand to wrap around the barrel and is therefore relatively safer imo. I would sometimes not use a glove with the clipless (not recommended), but lightly burned myself once. Still, you have to be careful with either--both are safe as long as the user is safe! The clipless effect does look a little different--The main difference is the slight crease where the clip holds onto the end of your hair--but I don't mind. To me it's a little too much effort with my long hair to deal with the clipless iron. --Heat settings Talking with friends of mine who curl their hair far more often than I, I heard a couple of times that a better quality (read: more expensive) curling iron with heat settings is really worth the investment. And normally higher quality ones have heat settings. According to some previous reviews I chose not to use the highest setting right away. I generally keep this one around the same heat: A mid-level makes nice looser curls on my normal (not too thick) hair. --Aesthetic I love black and gold together, so this just looks so nice to me. The gold is also supposed to be a good material to make a barrel out of! For smoother curls. --Value $30 is not bad for a Hot Tools curling iron. Cons: --Can't think of any yet! I've had no problems.

VERY NICE CURLING IRON. I HAVE BELOW SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR. I CURLED SMALL CHUNKS OF HAIR ALTERNATING FORWARD AND BACKWARD AND GOT A REALLY NICE MESSY CURL LOOK. MY HAIR IS FINE BUT QUITE A BIT OF IT. AND I USUALLY STRAIGHTEN IT. I THINK IT TOOK ME FIFTEEN MINUTES TO DO MY CURLS AND IT FELT NICE AND WAS A NICE CHANGE AND I GOT COMPLIMENTS. IT WAS LIKE I JUST GOT A PERM, BUT MY HAIR WASN'T DAMAGED. SO IT WAS LIKE I JUST GOT A REALLY GOOD PERM. I LIKED THE TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT AND THE CLAMP IS FIRM AND REALLY HOLDS THE HAIR ON THE WAND. GREAT CURLING IRON!!!

Hot tools products are truly the best I have found in a very long time. My girl at my salon uses this on mine so I got one for myself because I love it so much and it’s so nice because the heat settings are just perfect or you don’t burn your hair and I still get fabulous curl

I needed a curling iron that would give my fine, straight hair a nice curve instead of obvious curls, that don't last in my hair anyway. I like to wear my hair in a page boy type style that is more of a smooth curve and allows me to add a little body near the roots without overdoing it. I saw this 2" barrel and thought it might work. AND it does! It adds just enough curve that makes my hair look like it has body. And, it's shiny, which I didn't get from just the hair dryer. I am very happy with this new curling iron.

This is great! The effect is that of a nice blowout. I have hair that takes curl really well, it’s not short, and is pretty thick. 2” barrel just gives me a nice soft wave. Takes away frizz, gives a nice wave and I love it. Photos show me with this 2” iron and with 3/4. Quite a difference!!! If you have short hair, PASS. IT WONT HELP YOU!!

I've used Hot Tool products for a few years, so this was nothing new to me. Curling Iron was actually a replacement from my old one. It works great. Heats up fast and does the trick. My only concern about it was if I was ordering the right size.....turns out, I did! I would recommend this product to others.
