I bought this two, maybe three years ago, and it is honestly the best hair tool I've ever owned. It works incredibly well, heats up super fast (and has a temperature control so you don't fry your hair), doesn't noticeably damage your hair, it's consistently worked for the last three years, and as far as high quality irons go the price is pretty reasonable. As someone who curls her hair pretty much every day and has gone though a lot of curling irons, this is the best one by far. I also do hair and makeup backstage for my school's plays, and so I've tested this iron on many different types of hair and it's consistently worked on everyone. Other people often bring their irons in, too, and this one works better than all of them, people are constantly coming up to me and asking where I got it and if they can use it. I know people who claim they've never gotten their hair to hold a curl before, and this iron has made their hair curl. It's kind of magical. The only annoying thing about it is the cord can get really tangled up, but that's not a huge deal. Seriously, buy it. You won't regret it. A couple of things to note: I have pretty long hair (about elbow length when wet) so the 1 in barrel works perfectly for me, but I have friends with much shorter hair and it's too big for them, it only flips their hair out and doesn't curl. If you have a bob or short hair, go for a smaller barrel size. I'd recommend not using the clip, too, because you get more natural curls if you don't, but if you do want to use it it does come with extra springs if the spring breaks off, although I've never had to use them.

I love, love, LOVE this tiny curling iron. My hair is naturally wavy but for some strange reason does not like to hold larger curls. So these tiny curls ate not only adorable in my hair and recieve lots of compliments, but as my hair tries to straighten over the span of a day, since it starts out tiny, all it does is turn into a full body curl by days end. Adjustable temp setting is very handy and call me old fashioned but I still greatly prefer having a curling iron with the flap to hold hair. I'm not a wand girl, as I often do hair as I'm doing other things and like not having both hands occupied during the entire styling process.

I'll caveat this review by saying I'm not a hair stylist and no nothing as in zip, zilch, nada about the tools used in that profession. However better half has been a stylist for twenty years and serves as Creative Director for one of the top ten Day Spas in the United States - he knows his scissors and then some. Based on his feed back Hot Tools are a top choice for professionals for a couple of reasons: * They hold up to commercial use * Have a reliable thermostat which apparently is essential, who knew? * Solid Warrantee * Comfortable grip As for sizing the one inch is the most popular and any hair stylist worth their salt can make any size curl or wave with the one inch diameter rod. The price on Amazon was the best - beating out even the closed to the general public beauty supply houses that cater only to professionals. Over the years I've found this to be true with virtually all tools of trade and recently bought him a pair of $700 Kamisori shears for $265 with free shipping to boot. As for the curling iron it arrived in it's sealed retail packaging and again with a Prime membership you get free two day shipping to boot.

Bought the 1.5” iron. I have mid-length hair on the thin side, wavy, and highly fizzy. This product left my hair soft with semi loose curls. If you want super loose waves definitely get the 2”. I went back and forth trying to decide but by day 2 it got loose anyway so all good. It has a nice long cord too. Love my iron!!

The ABSOLUTE BEST curling iron that Ive come across! I have been trying to get nice CURLS on my ends for some time now, and Ive tried a lot of things. I went to the salon and my stylist used this iron, and NO HAIRSPRAY, GEL, MOUSE, OR whatever else makes curls stay, and my curls stayed in for like 3 days! I did not want to wash my hair, just because I was so amazed by the beautiful curls and waves that I woke up to! So I decided to buy it to see if I can do it myself. This curling iron out does my name brand curling irons without a doubt! I have one that goes for about 3 to 4 times as much as this one, and then I have a set that goes for a few hundred dollars, yet this is the ONE that actually works! The curls actually stay in my hair (unlike with the other curling irons), and because of how effective it is, I dont have to keep trying, and trying, and trying... all while buring my hair and damaging it! I spray my hair with a heat protector, curl small parts at a time (counting to 5 with each strand) and when I'm done I spray lightly with a flexible hold hairspray, then with a sheen spray. I run my fingers through, gently working the curls apart...and voila! I've got beautifully curled hair!

I worked in a salon where all of the stylists used Hot Tools products. They recommended this particular iron, and I have loved it ever since! This is actually my second purchase, because the first once I purchased finally gave up on me after years of use! I love this iron, because it heats up in 90 seconds and is ready to go! I have medium length hair, and the 1" gives me perfect soft waves. I like a more relaxed curl, so this is absolutely perfect for my style! I highly recommend this iron to anyone looking for a quality iron that heats up quick and can get super hot! This is a professional iron that will last you years! Just make sure and use a great heat protective product before using heat tools on your hair! :)

Absolutely in LOVE with this 1 1/4 inch iron! I have never been able to get the curls I’ve wanted over the years with my hair being the length it is, but this iron went above in beyond in less than 15 minutes. I’m not very experienced with curling irons to begin with, but am already quite pleased with the look I got on my first try. Fantastic product, would highly recommend.

Excellent product. My previous Hot Tools curling iron finally said goodbye after many good years so I decided to purchase again from the same brand. I couldn't remember the actually size of the barrel and I accidentally ordered a slightly larger one but it didn't matter because my hair curled beautifully! Great quality and durable as well. Highly recommend.

I have been trying different tools to achieve a wavy/blowout look. I have my handy 1.5 inch iron but I was looking for bigger volume. Welp after being disappointed with hair wands this 2 inch barrel is my answer!! It gives me soft volumious waves akin to getting a blow out! Great stuff. My only warning is that this is meant for longer hair I think due to the width. I can't imagine it working with shourlder length or shorter. My hair falls a bit past my midback, so it is ideal!

After using my Hot Tools professional curling iron for 10 years, it finally quit working, so I immediately replaced it with another. These curing irons are really easy to use, get as hot as you like, and heat up quickly. The cord is also long so it can reach from a fairly distant plug.
