Add a handle, and it's just about perfect

First of all, I liked the price. I had to make a few straight panel cuts in order to rebuild some cabinets, and I work in limited quarters with no table saw. My radial-arm saw is theoretically capable, but is never truly parallel with the fence. So I thought that a small circular saw, running next to a firmly affixed straight edge, would give me a decent edge.Using a thin Freud blade (link:  Freud D0436X Diablo 4-3/8-Inch 36 Tooth ATB Cordless Trim Saw Blade with 20-Millimeter Arbor and 3/8-Inch Reducer Bushing ), I got excellent results. However, like many other reviewers, I find these small saws (like this one and my Dremel) a bit awkward—too fat for comfortable one-hand use, but not exactly suited to a two-hand grip.Ah: But like Spiccoli's dad, I have bitchin' tools. The Worx dust port exits to the right of a plastic housing. The left side is flat, enabling me to drill a hole and tap it to take a 6-mm Allen-head cap screw from my where-the-hell-did-these-come-from bin. Onto this I screwed a foam-covered handle from a—well, I really don't know; it's a handle with 6-mm female mounting threads, and it's been lying around for years. I had to use a 3/8" standoff between the handle and the housing, but once everything was screwed together, I had a two-handed saw! And the very first thing I did with it was to cut across a three-foot quarter-inch Masonite panel following a pencil line—without any clamp or guide! So I'm giving this saw all five stars. I figure they would have added a handle if they'd thought of it first.

My go to project saw!

I purchased this saw in March 2018 to use during a remodel of my home. Little did I know at the time this would become my go to saw for just about every project. I have used this saw for cutting everything from 2 x 4's to cement fiber board and it has handled it all. Granted if you push beyond the saw's power you can stall it out, but if you don't force it and let the saw do its work it cuts just fine. (You shouldn't be in a hurry when using power tools anyway) I have used a number of blades with this saw from cheap carbide 24 tooth blades to cut cut cement fiber board to a more expensive Diablo blade for finer cuts on plywood and exterior sheathing. I have many other saws including a worm drive Skill magnesium (a great saw as well), but this saw is light, easy to handle and very controllable and the one I grab for when doing anything thing that doesn't require a cut deeper than 1 1/2 inches. I liked this saw so much I bought one for my son. I normally don't write glowing reviews as I'm hard to please, but in case you can't tell I love this saw.

from a woman's perspective ..

as a child I grew up around the basic carpentry work ie: to add a room on the home- but nothing on the simpler basis. I have always wanted to be able to build things like deck furniture or lay attic flooring. Due to my dislike of a "skill saw", due to it being so heavy, awkward and dangerous, I never did any wood working or building. Recently the need to build for a client has put me back into wood working and knowing that "my men at lowes" can't cut everything, I was on the hunt for a saw. After watching Anna White, doing research and disregarding 2 men's opinion and listening to my gut and another female friend.. I purchased this saw and can't be happier...A few suggestions -- I am able to control the saw with one hand and be efficient, but a smaller handle would have been nice and more comfortable. The picture instructions were not as easy to understand .. I think they could be written better to explain about trouble shooting and installing the blade and how the safety switch and stuff worked.. as a newbie, it took me some time to figure it out.. but I did figure it out because the tool is "simple" and that is a compliment because it is what I needed..Got the tool Friday afternoon and around 10 at night, I put it together, learned how to use it and began my first cuts. Built the 2 saw horses on my own in less than 2 hours (and that included the measurement parts)

Perfect for a newbie

I bought this for pretty much one reason, which was to build wooden shelves, ledges, and huts for my chinchillas' cages. Nothing too extravagant. I have never used a circular saw, and have never even used power tools outside of my 7th grade woodshop years ago. I was very nervous to use this as I thought I would drop it, lose control, whatever. Under the supervision of someone more experienced I tried this out on a piece of scrap wood (likely pine), probably a piece of a 1x6. I was VERY surprised and very excited at how easy it was to control and how well it cut the wood. I did have to use two hands to hold it the first couple of times because I do not have much upper body strength and was worried, but after a bit of practice I was able to cut with one hand and hold the wood with the other. All in all, as a small and relatively week young woman who is not in the world of construction, this is perfect for me!!

Outside of my Stihl chainsaw, this is the best tool I have

ENOUGH - stop the comparison with a full 7-1/4 circular saw. Would you take a Toyota Prius to a drag race??? Get the picture??This saw is awesome for what it's designed for. My first exposure to the the compact circular saw was borrowing my brothers Bosch. I really liked that tool but couldn't find one. So I bought the Worx. When I told my brother he was jealous as he loves Worx products.I have been using this tool for over a year now as my main saw. It has not failed me. I've mostly been doing flooring; underlayment and now LVP. Currently I'm renovating an entire first floor, over 700 sf. I have been cutting 4'x8' 3/4" plywood for the underlayment and now I'm cutting the LVP floating flooring. This saw is great for cross cuts, rip cuts and plunge cuts. Yes this did come with a guide, but I didn't feel it was adequate for the level of cutting I needed to do so I threw it out. But I have been able to make reliably straight 6= ft cuts just following my guide lines. With the right blade, I don't know what the limits of this saw would be. As for changing the blades, it is not hard by any stretch of the imagination.Power-enough for what I've been doing. Ease of handling - not an issue. Limitations - possibly, but I haven't found it yet. For those who compare it to a 7-1/4", stop. If you need a bigger saw, use it. Otherwise this little gem is something you should get and keep. I am.

A very good tool bargain...I highly reccommend this for lots of uses...but maybe not 2 X 4's.

I have been building high-end custom furniture for over 15 years and have often needed something like this to help with small precision cuts. I finally bought one based on customer reviews. I think it is a very nice tool and very well built. It will not replace my pro 7, 1/2" Milwaukee circular saw...but I did not expect it to. Very easy to use...one hand is no problem. I think you will need a fence in order to make a real straight cut. Very quiet...which I like. Also a T-square is included which may be helpful one day. The blade is very thin...which is nice. What is odd is that the maximum cutting depth is 1, 3/4"...not 2" as advertised on the box and in literature. I know how to measure and I can measure that the distance from the center washer to the outer most tooth is only 1, 3/4"...all day long. Not sure what to make of that. I do not cut 2 X 4's so it does not affect me...but maybe other buyers? Also there is a vacuum adapter which collects about 99% of the dust...HOWEVER...I could not figure out a way to connect it to my vacuum even with a boxful of connectors...I used some tape which was awkward. It should be a little smaller or a little larger. I think this feature could be a big selling feature for WORX if it was slightly improved, came out of the saw at a different angle and was easier to attach to a standard vacuum hose. As somebody who is used to spending a lot for tools I also think the price is a bargain.
