This thing is total crap, got it today and decided to do my own test based on the up and down reviews. Put 2 plastic bottles that were filled with water then fully frozen, and one bowl of ice cubes at 10 am into this. Shut it tight and left it outside in the shade until 5pm to replicate a camping experience. When opened after only 7 hours, the ice cubes had melted 100% and the 2 ice bottles had melted 60%. Not sure how there are 5 star reviews, Amazon really needs to do something about fake reviews.

The build quality and the aesthetic is great. However, I packed the cooler with 20 lbs of ice and all of it has completely melted within 2 days which is far from the 5 day ice retention claim. Its been sitting on a shaded porch in Maine and the temps haven't even reached 80 these last two days so I was expecting much more out of this cooler. I'll give it another shot but if the results are similar then unfortunately I'll be returning this cooler and looking elsewhere. Update to follow.Update #1: I bought another 10 lbs of ice for the last night and drive back from ME to MA. The ice didn't even make it to the 30 hour mark. It's a shame because I like everything else about this cooler. It not retaining ice for more than 30 hours put it on par with my 50% cheaper Coleman cooler of similar size which is a big let down. I'll be forced to return this cooler and look elsewhere for something that can retain ice closer to that 5 day mark.Update #2: I contacted the seller and they offered to send me a replacement. Hopefully the replacement fairs better then this one in my tests. Update to follow.

We bought this cooler for camping in hopes that it would retain the cold for a few days. Unfortunately, we had to buy ice for it every day. It pretty much performed just like our Igloo cooler from Walmart. (We brought them both on our last camping trip) I'd rather pay the smaller price for the standard Igloo! Also, it is a lot heavier than the Igloo. We thought we were getting something more in line with a Yetti. Wouldn't but again.

I've had for 2 months now. I work in construction and keep cooler inside truck during days (and nights) so it doesn't get dirty. I work in SoCal but near beach so temp doesn't exceed 90*. The Ice has not once, lasted over 2-days

Ice doesn’t even last 24hr

Followed instructions to "pre chill" chest, BUT did not work any longer than my cheap Coleman cooler! Don't waste your money - I returned it.

Had to return cause it was the wrong and looked different but it was easy to return and get a refund

this is no more than a one day cooler. Ice melts very quickly

The last three I ordered/replacements all came without purge valves. Not that the purge valve itself is missing. There is no threaded hole in the cooler for it. My original one I bought last year had a purge valve. Try opening the cooler without one. You will need to unscrew the drain plug.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in this cooler. I bought it knowing I would be traveling extensively and I needed something I wouldn't need to fill with ice daily. After only three days in mild weather (70's for the most part) and not being opened at all, and being packed full, half of it ice, everything was warm and all of the perishables had to be thrown out. In three days! Very disappointed. This was too expensive to fail so dismally.
