Although the pockets do heat up, the neck is the first thing to heat up and by the time the pockets are getting warm the neck is super hot and uncomfortable. If you can handle that then this jacket is for you.

I bought the vest after an associate bought one and raved about it. His raves were justified. The vest is great, with some considerations that you should make. 1) Buy an extended warranty. I had issues in the second season with my vest. My friend has had none. 2) Washing frequently causes the filling to snake its way out. My friend washes his frequently. I washed mine twice during last season - gentle cycle only. This season, it stopped working after the first wash. My purchase was over a year old at the time. The company graciously offered a discount since I was past the warranty date. I chose to decline the offer and purchase directly from the manufacturer; since their holiday sale was greater than the discount this seller offered and they had a limited time offer of a discounted warranty. The cross-functionality of the battery is awesome; in that you use it to charge other devices (with an adapter). Another note, the vest only has the two exterior pockets and one inside (primarily for the battery). I found that limiting, in that I didn't have a breast pocket. But not so much of a downer since I ordered another.

I'm 5'9" 175 pounds. Ordered the medium and it was ridiculous large on me in the waist area. I'd expect a heated vest to be slightly snug, but this is huge for a medium. Maybe I need to order it in women's as I'm broad chest with a slim waist.

The vest looked nice and I got a great recommendation from a friend so I went ahead and made the purchase. When I received the vest and attempted to put it on I realized this was made for a tiny person and that I am not!

I bought this vest as a gift but my return window was Feb 5...just passed. My friend has been out of town due to work and did not get a chance to try it in until yesterday. It still is too tight. I would like to return it for a refund or I'll exchange it for my size. Please help me with this dilemma.

Even though there’s a “one yr warranty”, the company will not replace plug that broke off in charger after only charging once. They stated they do not replace for normal wear & tear. Shame because my spouse was not rough with it and he likes it so much I was going to buy them for my sons too. Very disheartening.

It's hard for me to rate this because it was a Christmas gift for my son. He's 6'1" about 175lbs, on the slim, athletic side & he wanted this for Christmas. But when he tried it on he said the fit just didn't feel right. Not exactly sure what he meant by that, he doesn't live at home. I returned it because I ordered the wrong color but when I asked him exactly what color to order, he said he really didn't like the way it fitted him. O ordered him a M. I know... not much help, so sorry.

I go winter camping, and walking and snowshoeing in the outdoors of northern Wisconsin several times a day, every day. I am getting older and thought a heated vest would be nice. The vest seems well made and fits well, but the main reason I bought it was to have heat in the neck area. There is some, but not enough for me. When outside, even with it fully zipped up, I can't feel the heat on my neck. In doors I can feel some heat. The chest and back heat up, but not enough for me. To feel the heat you have to wear a very warm jacket over it and have it tight to your body. If it is cold out this is normal anyway. The only setting I would use is high as the other settings are not enough for my needs. Other reviews were much better than mine, but I gave it several real life tests and now don't wear it because my light weight, Big Agnes Downteck vest is warmer and much lighter and so more comfortable, also much more expensive. A big plus in my opinion is the customer service. I contacted them and got a response asking some specific questions about temperature. I procrastinated, but got a follow up contact asking again and if they could be of any help. I did what they asked, told them the results and they said it seemed normal, but if I was not satisfied I could return it with free shipping. As soon as it shipped they started the refund process. Awesome. So, go ahead and see if it works for you, according to other reviews, it may well provide enough heat and there is very little risk on your part.

Bought this for my morning motorcycle commute, it's pretty warm on highest setting but I get barely 2 hours before the battery is completely dead. Since my commute is an hour I have to charge it every day if I don't want to risk it dieing on me (which i experienced first hand) other than that the fit is nice and it is warm, just wished the battery lasted as long as advertised because charging it every day is a little bit of a pain.

Update: UPDATE: I am now working with the seller to see what will happen with a new vest - I returned my original one through Amazon, and the seller will try to determine which return it was so that they can recover it and conduct tests. The assure me that the shocks are an anomaly, and that they want to determine what the cause might be. I believe that they are sincerely interested in working with me to figure out this issue. In the interim, I am ordering a new vest - they will provide me a new one and I will test it to determine whether it was simply an isolated issue, or a greater problem. BTW, I am not new to electric clothing - my wife uses a Kelvin Electric jacket, and I also use Mount Tec heated mittens for winter sports, so I know this technology well. I will revise my review after using the new vest for a few months. Stand by! (PAST UPDATE): So I've used this vest one week, and now I am getting electro-static shocks each time I take off the vest. The company wants me to send it back, but I prefer to have it replaced with a functioning one prior to sending this one in. I am sensing that there may be a safety issue emergent here... Otherwise, this vest fits well with the removable panels, has a good fabric feel, and is cut nicely. And it works as expected. But there are a few design refinements that would make this a really good vest, comparatively - 1) make a dedicated pocket on the inside chest are for the battery - the current placement in the left pocket impacts all reasonable use of that pocket, including putting you hand in there for warmth, as the battery heats up and the cable is continually in the way. A separate pock inside would be a 100% improvement. 2) Use a much better quality zipper, please! This weak zipper will peel apart shortly, I am sure. Take these steps and you will have a much higher quality vest - and I'll be happy to test drive the new model for you!
