I got my Ororo heated vest, charged it up, and headed for the woods of Northern Michigan for a week of deer hunting. As you might imagine, sitting in a deer blind in Michigan in November is a cold experience and the vest did it's job in offsetting some of the misery. It is slow to recharge so it might be worthwhile to have a second battery pack if you do as I did and hunt mornings and evenings, but overall pleased with the heating; function. A word of caution, the zipper is very poorly made and if you zip it up past the curve just below the chin it binds seriously. The darned thing just wont make the curve and I had to pull it over my head on several occasions to get it off.

Super warm vest even without the heat turned on. Heats up quickly and is very nice. It’s bulkier than I expected and doesn’t quite fit under the coats I hoped it would do I think I should’ve gone for the full coat or the fleece maybe for better layering As others have mentioned the light it quite bright on your chest i wish it went full bright to show mode and then dimmer back to maybe 20% after a few seconds. It lights up around you at night and is super noticeable

I've only used this once, at this time. It was about 35°, and a little wind. I wore a light base layer under, and a lighter med weight jacket over. Kept the chill off on low setting. The only thing I would have liked is for it to heat lower back, instead of shoulders. I think this would help keep you warmer, by heating kidney area.

My chest size is 41 inches. The size L fits Ok wearing over a T shirt. Fits a little tight wearing over a heavy flannel shirt. I recommend going one size larger to wear over heavy flannel shirts. High quality battery pack, fit and finish is very good on the battery pack and vest, great location for the on/off button for adjusting the High, Med, Low heat settings. Heating element around neck line is wonderful. I will probably purchase an extra battery pack to cover a full day of cold weather outdoor activities.

Update 6/10: after a fairly cold overnight canoe trip (low 50s), the vest held up well. Kept me relatively warm without power. On high mode, I had no complaints but the battery does drain quickly. Low was barely noticeable. I did not even bother with medium since it was cold. The led light on the power button was distractingly bright. However, I was very happy with the vest overall. Original Review: Fit is on the slim side, which I like. It’s also on the bulkier side which helps retain heat but I would’ve preferred something with lower bulk. Heats up very quickly. Will be taking it camping so will update the review once I really put it through the test!

This is a unique product in that there are removable panels on the sides to increase or decrease its size. The only thing that caused me to downgrade to 4 stars -and I admit it is purely subjective - is having the controls on your chest. A bit awkward to use and very visible. But if it came to it, I would buy this again.

I have used this vest hunting about six times so far. Very warm and comfortable. Battery life is very good. Two reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars, one being I usually wear a large vest and the large was very tight, exchanged for XL and it fits perfect, the other reason is a cannot say how it will perform long term.

Delivers good heat to back, neck and pockets; moderate warmth to torso. Controls are awkwardly placed (particularly if wearing another jacket on top) and battery compartment is difficult to access when wearing the garment - a (minor) issue if you want to plugin for a recharge without taking off the vest. Overall, comfortable and and useful for outdoors in cold weather. Have worn it daily.

the vest does a great job with the heat output. I love the heat around the neck. that just makes the entire body feel warm. The center back and pocket areas also do a great job. I've only used the vest so far on the lowest heat setting, usually with a lite jacket over it or a sweater under it. The battery lasts no where near the advertised times. I'm lucky to get 4 hours out of it. The only other downside I've noticed is the zipper gets stuck a lot on the inside liner. But over all i would recommend it and buy it again

Bought this to replace an older gerbing vest that I could no longer get a replacement battery for. The Ororo is a much better heating vest then what my gerbing ever was. Have yet to use it while hunting but I feel it will keep me considerably warmer then my old one. The only reason for the four star rating I gave it was due to the length of the vest where I would have preferred it to have been 23 or 24 inches long and the body rather than the 27 that it is which has it about 3 to 4 inches below my waist.
