We were very happy with this machine, even though it created heck of a mess. The shaved ice was perfect. Sure it's loud, but not as loud or aggravating as having to pound ice cubes with a mallet, Unfortunately, it siezed up after about its 12th use -- maybe 20 minutes altogether of continuous operation. Sending it back. Really disappointed.
