My 5 year old is obsessed with Harry Potter and was beyond thrilled to receive this gift! I purchased this when it was 50% off for Christmas and that is the high end of what I would pay for it. Its a solid product and the app has worked well for us, but as the wand is plastic with a small board, most of the cost is app related. I definitely wouldn't have paid full price which it why it sat on my wish list for over a year. The actual product itself is highly recommended.

My son is a huge fan of coding, computers, and Harry Potter. When we discovered we could combine these passions with the Kano Harry Potter coding kit we knew we had to have it. When the box arrived my son ran to open it. He immediately jumped right in and loved building the wand and exploring the program. This is an excellent product for all children, from beginner coders to those who consider themselves experts. This will be a product my son spends time with. He is already going back to explore what else he can do with the program from his original experiences with it. I highly recommend!

This kit rocks! After a brief set up and assembly, we were ready to start on our iPad (didn't experience the compatibility issues I've seen some others mention). My kid was hooked pretty instantly, but my husband and I have been taking turns on the rare occasion she puts it down! The lessons are great, and have been a wonderful introduction to coding for my daughter, who didn't have much experience with programming before. So far the lessons have grown with her, and she has been spending time with it every single day since it arrived. She loves showing us her new creations! The wand tracking is excellent (my husband seems to have some trouble with a few of the motions, but I suspect that may be more operator error than anything else) and the physical interaction has kept my daughter more engaged than our previous attempts to get her interested in coding. All-in-all a big winner in our house!

The Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit is a fun addition to our household. My nine year old son and I opened the package together. Each page of the instruction pamphlet contained a simple step. I really enjoyed this layout, it allowed for my son to read and complete the step on his own, rather then me reading and putting it together. It was an added bonus that the wand came with two sets of batteries. The wand connected to my sons kindle through Bluetooth without any issues. The poster included was fun to read, and contained pronunciations which was helpful for me. We enjoyed trying to use the wand, and look forward to doing more with it on the next snow day! Hint to others: Remove batteries when not in use.

Loved this product, very innovated idea and my daughter has had a loads of fun with it...however, I do not love the fact tjat there is no off switch to the wand meaning to preserve battery life you must remove batteries after each round of play. That my friends is annoying. I feel an off switch would have been easy to install considering how tech savvy this toy is meant to be.

Bought as a Christmas present for a Potter obsessed little girl, was not disappointed! From the first replica wand she got, she wanted to be able to "really cast spells", and when we saw this, I couldn't wait for her to open it Christmas morning. If anything, she was a little confused as she couldn't understand how it would work until we got it going with the app. Her face when she first made it work was priceless! It was easy to put together, the directions were clear, the app that it works with its fantastic...I can't say enough good things about it. Watching my 7 year old daughter learn about how coding works and having fun in the process is wonderful. We're already planning to buy the computer kit as well. Great product, great company.

My nine year old got this for Christmas. It's simple to use and engaging, and helps with learning basic coding principles. At this age it's a great way to have fun and learn at the same time.

A fun Harry Potter Potter experience. Does not teach coding well, but it gives young people a good reason to try out programming.

I got this for my 8 year old gifted daughter for Christmas. She does coding in her gifted class at school so she took right to this toy. She enjoyed the process of building the wand and is working through the app. She hasn't needed much help from me and really enjoying the app and wand. Seems like a great buy so far.
