Terrible Ergonomics

It looks like switch joycons, right? Unfortunately, they are much smaller than actual joy-cons. Unlike the ubiquitous "xbox controller" layout that has become the standard, the joystick is near the top on the right side with the buttons below. Which makes this controller extremely uncomfortable to use as you have nothing to hold onto when trying to use the buttons due to how small the controllers are. Charging it is a hassle as you need 3 USB-C cords: 1 for your phone, 1 for the left side, and 1 for the right side. 2 stars for requiring 2 tiny hands to use.

A controller made for Ants

Ackward button layout. Most mobile games use left joystick and abxy layout -- Why Razer decided to use double top joystick is a BIG DUMB BRAIN!! Directional buttons feel very cramped. Lots of unsupported games. Even AAA like CoD Mobile is unsupported. Hot garbage!

A tremendously niche and overpriced, yet perfectly functional JoyCon-inspired phone controller.

I'll start this review off by saying I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, one of the *only* four phones this product actually has cases for, the other three being Samsung Galaxy S10+, Razer Phone 2, and oddly, the Huawei P30 Pro (which is only packaged as an alternate option to the Note 9 case, so be wary of that). The controller sides pair similarly to most "True Wireless" earbuds on the market, in that one side (in my case the right, don't know if models differ) acts as the "master" to pair with the phone, while the other (left) pairs to the "master" side. The buttons are clicky, and at least on my model aren't particularly loud. Certainly more quiet than the Xbox One controller, or even my mouse and keyboard, which are audible on microphone around a wooden panel. I've had some troubles on the RetroArch emulator frontend on Android, but this seems more a fault on the software side, as I've had little to no problems with native Android games such as Bully or GTA. Native PC game functionality is limited, and seems to be DirectInput (works fine with LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga as an example). Emulators work just fine with standard mapping required. Pros: + Pairs just fine with any Bluetooth-compatible phone or computer (possibly also iPhone, which I don't own, but Razer states no compatibility/support for in any case) + Responsive controls + Solid build quality + Excellent battery life + Charges by USB-C Neutral (no opinion) . Very basic case design (not so much a problem for the cases themselves) Cons: - *Extremely* small list of phones Razer fully supports; considering the speed in which new phone models are released, and the sheer basic design of the cases, it leaves no excuse for lack of cases for other phones -- No included USB-C chargers (considering you have to charge each side separately, this is a double bad) --- Retail price of $100; compare this to the JoyCon, the controller(s) this product is based off of: $80, and any competing phone controller line such as iPega, GameSir, or even 8BitDo. All in all, this controller works fine, but it's *way* too expensive for what it is. I managed to snag one on sale for $50, but I think it's *barely* worth that, considering the basic case design, as well as the fact Razer doesn't even supply a single charger for it. They should fully consider dropping the retail price, constructing more cases, and supplying *at least* one charger cord in future models for this product to have any mainstream appeal. As it is, I only recommend it for extremely hardcore Razer enthusiasts, and even then, *only* while on sale.

The controller works fine and can work with any device that supports bluetooth controller, I'm using this for my galaxy tab s6 no problem at all but the protector case that comes with the controller only works with 3 phones Razer phone 2, Galaxy s10 plus, and Galaxy note 9 and in the near future 3rd party seller will made more case for other phone's. Update: the controller is starting to fail after 2 months, the games I'm playing is acting as if I'm pushing those buttons and I'm not and is a hassle to return, maybe I should have waited a few months after it was released to see if they fix this problems.

Beware

The product itself is nicely made. Wish I've done more research before purchasing. There aren't that many games that are supported by the controller. What I mean by that is that you will need to download 3rd party apps to have button mapping/overlays on the apps you want to use. I mainly bought it to play call of duty mobile, only to find out the app didn't provide compatible controller support. I managed to download the app to have button overlays, but this caused issues on COD because it detected the 3rd party button mapping app as a bot. Banning me on multiple occasions. Also the case itself provides no protections what so ever, dropped it at about <3ft and my screen shattered beyond usage. I wouldn't recommend using the case as an everyday phone protector, since it's not designed for that.
