First thing I want to say is this. I love the concept of this. Having a case where I can attach joycon style controllers is great. You don't have to have a totally separate controller for your phone. The controllers even attached to the small hub fit in your pocket. I haven't had any lag issues at all. I have even connected my phone to my TV using a USB-c to HDMI cable and played several play station games with the controller. The only problem I have is with the case it's self. It's made with a smooth plastic. So I feel like it will slip out of my hand. The spaces where the volume buttons and power button sit. The bottom edge of the plastic sit out further than the edge of phone. So you get a sharp edge cutting into your thumb or finger when you press the buttons. I hope Razer reads these reviews. If they come out with a updated version of the case that covers these issues I would grab it in a heart bet. But for now I have sanded down the edges to help with the sharp edges. I am thinking about coating the case it's self with Plastidip to help with the smoothness and give it a better grip.

OMG thank you Razer! I am hooked! Don’t have Razer phone but have S10+ and this controller fits great. You snap the phone into a case then attach left and right side of the controller to a base and there you have it. It is super responsive and portable, great for gaming on the go. Overall experience is great with this controller and the game selection is pretty good. The click is satisfying but loud. I am the click girl, if it didn’t click it didn’t happen but this is slightly louder than any of our other devices. For most of the time I completely zone out and don’t hear the click, I just enjoy the feel but it might annoy people around you LOL I know some don’t care but I do. I am a mom with the stroller at the doc office and I am already getting looks just by holding it 🙄 so the click just brings extra unwanted attention. Star down for the price as this controller is not self sufficient so but totally love it!

At first I was pretty disappointed with this controller because it wasn't compatible with any game that I tried except for Fortnight. Not being a big Fortnight fan, this was very disappointing. But today, November 24th, 2019, when I opened the Gamepad app, I saw a flash of a notification saying there was a firmware update waiting to be installed. It went away before I could act, but a little digging through the settings of the app I was able to find it and it installed quickly and flawlessly. I certainly can't say the same for a lot of other devices I've tried to update through Bluetooth. The case for the Galaxy S10+ fits perfectly, and also makes a decent case, although it is a bit blocky (but I like that) and obviously the ends need to be a little longer to accommodate the controllers. The plastic is strong, and the controllers slide in pretty easily. They click into place, but if I had a choice, they'd do so a bit more strongly as they can sometimes pop up while playing. There are a couple gripes, though. You had to know they were coming. The sticks are a little too sensitive and take some getting used to, and the center piece doesn't electrically connect the halves so you have to charge them independently. The charging thing is a bit of a sore point for me. The good news is that it charges with USB C. The more devices that come with that port the better. But, iirc, this set didn't even come with a charging cable. This is concerning because of the fact that it takes 2 chargers to charge both halves instead of there being a way to charge them together. So if you don't feel like waiting twice as long to charge them one after the other, you'll need 2 warts and 2 cables (never mind if your phone needs a charge at the same time). Annoying when they simply could have put a few contacts on the inside edges of each controller and corresponding connectors in the middle piece to allow them to charge together. The way they pair in Bluetooth was unexpected as well. Not because I shouldn't have expected it, though, but because the instructions aren't very comprehensive. They just gloss over the process without explaining how it works. You only need to connect to one of them, the other will automatically connect after that. And, as other reviews have undoubtedly complained, before today's firmware update the game compatibility was extremely limited. But now it's working much better and all the games I've tried it with work fine.

Holding the controller in my hand at first it does feel very light, almost cheaply made. The buttons are very clicky. The small square form factor is not great in my hands but maybe thats just me. The case is hard plastic material which is expected. It's slimmer than my Spigen but also taller for the grooves for the controllers. Disappointed Razer didnt open up the back to allow the chroma snake logo from the phone to shine through. Pairing was easy. Once the controller is attached to the phone though it feels great. It makes for a great portable gaming device and is easy to use if you like the Switch type setups. All my emulators and games picked it up fine w/ no configuration needed. Only exception was PS Remote Play, Stadia, and Project X Cloud but again that was expected (UPDATE: It actually does work with X Cloud which is really cool) (UPDATE 2: also works with GeForce Now. So long Stadia!). Maybe in the future. The small size makes it easy to carry with me in my pocket or bag without eating up too much space. It's great to be able to switch from a phone to a great portable gaming device on the go. My 2 biggest complaints are that 1. the shoulder triggers are just buttons and not analog, and 2. it just doesnt feel like a $100 controller. The controller alone in my hand feels light/thin and very clicky. I've bought $20 no name BT controllers for android that feel more solid than this. I'm hoping the cheap feel doesnt translate to short lifespan so we'll see how it holds up over time. I also feel like I paid for 2 extra cases I didnt really need. UPDATE: Since update to Android 11 on OnePlus 8 Pro it no longer works properly. Not Razers fault as this appears to affect all phones on Android 11, but I tested this controller on my 8 Pro, and Galaxy S20 and analog sticks no longer work in games.

This is a really nifty gadget. It basically turns your phone into a Nintendo switch, with the same sliding controller mechanism, just without the push switch to slide them out. The buttons feel much better though as they're mechanical. I'm using a OnePlus 7 Pro, and found that it fit in the Note 9 Case well. The control sticks are pretty much a smaller version of the ones in the switch. Pairing us also extremely easy, just turn each side on and go to your Bluetooth settings to pair both sides. Now my only gripe with this device is that there is no support for the hottest games on mobile right now aka PUBG Mobile and CoD Mobile. You have to use a 3rd party app called octopus just to use those apps, which my verification wouldn't even work to enable it so I couldn't test it out. Once there's support for those games I'll change the review to 5 stars but at the moment, while there's a decent library of games, the best games aren't supported right now.

Pros: Easy to connect and use. I connected this through bluetooth with my samsung galaxy S9 and my Samsung chromebook plus (I did not have any of the devices listed for this item so I couldn't test the fit of the cases, but I was able to mount a case inside one of them for my phone and can play with the controller that way. But I mostly use it for gaming on my chromebook that is flippable, so it's like playing on a gaming system). The device was recognizable and instantly connected with no setup required. The app shows you all the games that are compatible with the item and lets you customize the buttons. The battery life is insanely long. My son has been playing with this thing for two days straight and it still has not died. It does not have a cheap feel to it. Cons: Does not come with it's own charger. Have to charge each side individually. The letters on the buttons are not easily readable, they are very skinny.

As many are capitalizing on the popularity of the Nintendo Switch and bringing that technology for smartphones, popular gaming company, Razer has released the Razer Junglecat Dual-Sided Mobile Game Controller for Android phones. You get the Razer Junglecat which features two gamepad (Left and Right) that run on Bluetooth and it’s center connection, three cases for the Razer Phone 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the Samsung Galaxy GS10+. The first thing you will want to do is download the Razer Gamepad app and you will get a list of games that are available. At this time, I have only Fortnite, Modern Combat 5, Street Fighter IV and Unkilled – Zombie, Rules of Survival, Alien Shooter Series and Zombie Gunship Free and Zombie Gunship Survival (there are a lot of zombie type games). I do recommend downloading the games you need and the Razer Gamepad add, before inserting your phone in the case. Do yourself a favor though, download the games first because this is what takes the longest amount of time, as certain games have multiple updates. So, getting back to the Razer Junglecat Pairing is easy via Bluetooth as your phone will discover both L & R gamepads (the LED flashes blue and then when paired, it turns green). Just make sure the switch on the gamepads are turned on. Pair one and it pairs both at the same time. If you have one of the three phones that can fit in the custom case, you are good to go. I tested first with a Samsung Galaxy GS10 and it worked very well. But I tested other phones. Bare in mind, a question some may ask is if all Android phones will work, will I wanted to test that, so I used a Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium. It’s big and fortunately the Razer Phone 2 case would work, but of course, buttons are all on the right. So, I did a DIY mod on the Razer Phone 2 case by eliminating the right side of the case, in order for me to get to the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium buttons. It’s important to note that because a Sony Xperia XZ Premium case is curved and not flat, it’s not going to be 100% perfect with a Razer Phone 2 case but I was able to get the case around it and insert the Gamepads to the left and right and use it to play numerous games. So, I was able to get the Razer Junglecat to work on it. The next one is of course, an Apple iPhone. I was able to test it with an emulator that has Bluetooth capability, so the Razer Junglecat does work on that. I was able to use it on one of the cases which fit. But for the most part, if you have an Android phone and you are not sure if it will work on the provided cases, you can wait and see if Razer releases them or you can go with the DIY mod route. So far, while playing the game, I have had no lag and the Razer Junglecat has less than 14ms latency. If anything, I found mapping the buttons to be much easier with the Gamepad app, because doing it on the game itself is a bit challenging as the naming conventions are a bit different for certain games. I also found some games, seeing if I can adjust the sensitivity of the right stick in order to make sure the targeting is on point, because games like Fortnite are dependent on it. So, use the Gamepad app to adjust sensitivity of the sticks. But for the most part, the Razer Junglecat Game controller for Android has worked and Razer has delivered. While the hardware works, we can only hope Razer does release additional smartphone casing as many Razer owners with a different smartphone will be expecting it. As for battery power, the gamepads are said to work over 100 hours of gaming before it needs a charge, which is pretty cool! Last, its under a $100, so its a bit pricey especially when compared to similar technology. But as of right now, it’s worked perfectly and I’m giving it four stars! As always, the review score may be adjusted the longer I utilize the Razer Junglecat Dual-Sided Mobile Game Controller for Android Phones and seeing how Razer supports the unit with additional casing in the future.

I am a fan of the razer junglecat. One thing I do not like is a separated dpad. So I modified it, and now it is very nice.

I really liked the controller but it is not as effective as it could be since it uses a plugin called Octopus that is banned in most FPS games. If there was a better integration it would be 100% better but it has good build quality, less conforatble that the Switch controllers but it does the job.
