Careful buying used or refurbished. This was our first time buying this product and we didn't realize until much later that it is suppose to come with a code to download some of the games you purchased with the set. Those games say we need to buy them again or input a code. When I finally understood we were missing that code it was too late to return the item. If giving this as a gift and buying months ahead of time, open it up and make sure you have your game codes. And... maybe just buy new :(

I am so annoyed with this product! I bought this for my son for Christmas and frankly don’t think he will ever use it now! The set up has been a nightmare! Two of the games that were supposed to be included are not available to download anymore apparently. There is supposed to be an additional adapter for the kindle fire that was never mentioned anywhere that I need to purchase before we can play most of the games And the the one game that didn’t require the adapter is not showing the screen properly. My 5 year old son is loosing interest because all of the issues we have experience and frankly, I’m so annoyed that I’m temped to return it instead of investing anymore in an adapter for a system that seems like more of a hassle than fun at this point.

I bought this for my 4 and 6 year old grands and the directions are very difficult to follow. It would have been easier if all you had to do was scan the bar code, download the app, sign up and then all the books you have purchased show up in the kids app. The directions don't make sense and we are still trying to figure out how to use the device.

Bought this for a holiday gift and thought it was a great idea, but the reality is less than impressive. Kinda fun, but also kind of not. Apps often misread what's happening in the work space and seems too finicky, especially for smaller children, since it often requires getting things "just right" in order for the game to interact with the child correctly. On top of that, the app management gets to be a bit nuts, with each game requiring its own download, registration and app on your device. Easily becomes one page of just Osmo games. After one child created an account and second child created another, there was also no easy way to combine them/manage them in one place. Ultimately required signing in and out of things multiple times. All in all, WAY too much tinkering required for how much fun the games really are. Has been sitting on the shelf gathering dust for many months.

My kids have Kindle Fires set up with Amazon FreeTime for parental control. Getting Osmo to work on their Kindles has been an exercise in frustration. Everything you try to do will be blocked. First challenge is getting the Osmo app installed. To do it with FreeTime enabled, you have to download it on a parent device, then share it with the kid device, then download it onto the kid device. Now open the app on the kid device, it says you need an account. Blocked on the kid device. Do it on the parent device. Now login on the kid device and tell it which products you have. Now it tries to install something else based on the last question. Blocked. That's where I stopped to write this initial impressions review. Amazon and Osmo get an F in "Works Well With Others".-UPDATE- 2 days later my kids have been able to use this by getting the individual apps for each activity, but still can't use the main Osmo app. The included pen for the princess drawing requires pressing so hard to make a dark enough line for Osmo to recognize that it broke during the first exercise. Abundant tears. My kids do like the activities they've been able to do, so I'm upping the rating to 3 stars. This product is a fantastic idea that just doesn't get it quite right.

So if you have the Amazon Fired HD 10 11th generation then this starter kit is incomplete. It says in Small Red letters something along the lines of "Amazon Fire tablet 2021 reflector sold separately" right under saying that the starter kit is compatable with Amazon Fire HD 10 11th generation. So if it's comparable but you have to get an essential part that is supposed to be included with the starter kit sold separately is it really compatible? I think not. Now I bought this at Christmas time for my daughter's bday in March so I'm stuck and have to buy the part separately or be out ALL my money for ALL the Osmo kits I bought so another $10 is worth it for me in the long run. Just unhappy that it says it's compatible when it really isn't because it is not a complete starter kit. Basically you HAVE to have the correct reflector or none of it works

I honestly bought all of the osmo learning products to help my daughter with reading and math and coloring etc. this one was by far the only one i should have purchased but it is still limited. It was much better and possibly for kindergarteners, but you really need to help a lot. It was complicated but once she got the hang of it it was pretty good. It seems to only keep her interest for 5 to ten minutes and doesnt really go beyond that for imagination etc

I enjoy the hands on approach to learning. Plus my kiddos love the screen time and I love that it's not mindless. I have a 5 almost 6 year old and 4 year old. Osmo can be a lot of fun but is very sensitive. Sometimes when you have the tiles right under the sensor it doesnt pick them up at all. We have also had osmo completly kick us out and the app reboot while we were in the middle of a game. This is very frustrating for a child. It also gets frustrating for my 5 year old when shes using the tangrams and she has the picture perfect but osmo wont recognize her shapes. Also it could use a bit more verbal instructions in some places. If just puts things on the scree but doesnt explain what you should do. It's a good idea, a fun approach, I got a really good deal or I'd be a little upset paying 100+ $ for as glitchy as it is. I do think it's a wee bit over priced and could use some fine tuning. Be prepared to be nearby to assist your kiddo. Its deffinatly not a 100%independent thing because of its glitchyness.

Very annoyed that we go this as a Christmas gift for our son but went to set it up and we have to order a whole new reflector because the adapter is apparently no longer made. This information is hidden in the description of the product. It doesn't make sense to not update the package to include what you need in a supposed starter kit. I should not have to buy something to be able to use it. So now it's gonna collect dust until the new reflector comes in from the osmo website.
