This base is definitely needed for this umbrella. It was very unstable without it. Although ,it was a pain to add the sand, I feel more confident that it won’t get blown over with any storms etc..

We filled the segments with water. Note to self, water freezes and expands in the polar vortex of Chicagoland where we live. Need to empty prior to winter which last from November to April here. Buy it.

It took some time to fill with sand but overall was fairly easy. Seems to hold the umbrella in place. Satisfied with the purchase.

Was easy to put together. The metal links were a little tuff to fit right and one need to be bent to fit right, otherwise all was good and easy to do. Seems to hold the umbrella well and sturdy.

Excellent value. The plastic containers are well made. The only glitch with the system are the clips to attach the plastic containers to each other. The legs on the clips are too short to straddle the bars on the umbrella base, so either make new clips or shim the tanks higher.

Would recommend using sand instead of water. Not easy to fill. Any tips?

Doing the job!! Slow process filling the panels but overall much easier than expected given the reviews. When you fill the panels, be sure to use a funnel, goes much faster that way.

Very sturdy - I filled mine with water. Not maneuverable so I wish I had purchased one with wheels. But … if you’re looking to keep the umbrella in one spot - you’re all set. No other issues.

4 stars. Perfect for the umbrella! Makes a great base and looks better than what it came with. Knocked down one star due to it being difficult to fill with sand
