I bought this for my son who tends to lose things from time to time. Key fobs are the biggie. If you have ever priced one of these beauties you know a key fob is the last thing you want to lose. Set up was a breeze and connected it to his key chain. I put the keys under the bed without him knowing and told him to find them. He could hear the chiming (chirping or whatever) but my old damaged ears didn't hear it until I got close to the room. He found his keys easily. Now that we have this, he'll most likely never misplace them again but his PHONE...he misplaces it on a regular basis and BOOM, press the button on the Tile and it makes his phone ring even if it's on silent. If this thing was around when I used to lose things, I wouldn't have to listen to my dad saying, "Where did you lose it?" "It'll be in the last place you look." and other helpful things. I only gave it 4 stars because it's not louder. Perhaps I am too old and critical but I need to be able to hear it. Will update review in future if the situation changes.

We got these for the dogs specifically interested boundary function (premium feature= $ monthly that wasn't clear). A good fence is our primary plan and Tile is the back up plan. I would not recommend this for tracking anything that can move on its own. It only tells you that the item is close or far or out of range, the last position on the map is that of the phone itself when the phone (blue tooth) lost contact, the Tile is NOT sending a gps location to the phone. Still useful and the price is good for what it is. Since these are on dogs we are training the dogs to come to the kitchen when they here the Tile find tone. We're on 5 acres and if a dog sets off an alert they are still on the property not wandering 2 blocks away. If we ever need to "find" a missing dog we can send the "something's good in the kitchen sound" let them head home. We looked at the GPS dog trackers each with a sim card and cell plan and with 4 dogs the monthly cell bill would be double. The first day, Heidi took off after a coyote and tripped the alarm at 3:30am. We may never have known to give her the credit she deserved for doing her job, not to mention being able to back her up... Heidi is "farm smart" and cayotes are looking for easy meals not scrapping with dog their own size so they head out and leave our ducks alone.

Really liked the original tile mate that I bought a year ago. Since the batteries were starting to fade (the app gave me a warning), I saw they had new tile mates with replaceable batteries. This is a review of the Tile Mates with replaceable batteries. After using the product for about a month I can say I really like them. A couple points to know: -The new Tile Mate with replaceable battery is a little thicker than the original tile mate. Maybe 30 percent thicker. -The battery inside is a CR1632. They are easily available on Amazon for little money. This makes the new Tile Mate last much longer than the previous version since you can replace the battery -On occasion I can not get my phone to make the tile make noise. I'll have my keys at my desk and will fire up the tile app on my phone. It will say it can't find them. Might happen 20 percent of the time. And if I continue to try to find them the tile will make noise at some point. Might be a bluetooth issue...I'm using a fairly new Google Pixel 3 -If you lose your keys or whatever the tile is attached to, there's a way to use the community of Tile users to help find them. If another tile user passes your Tile, you'll be alerted where the Tile was located. That's handy and it helped one of my kids when they couldn't remember where they placed an item that had the tile. Took a few days but eventually the tile showed up on the app and they went to retrieve it. I bought the four pack and quickly found my kids wanted to get Tiles on their keys too. My son lost his keys a few weeks ago at College and wished he had the tile on it.

so its day one. the setup was a breeze. the tile has worked like 1 out of 3 times in our trials around the house. holding the tile in one hand and the phone in the other, after pressing the "find" button on the app, the message came back "tile not in range. for customer support there are a couple of options. no phone number, but there is a 48 hour response on emails and a live chat. i tried the live chat. its been an hour and fifteen minutes as i write this. the only response i've had so far from them is "your message has been received and is in the queue to be answered." multiple times - there is no one there. for a tech company, this is really bad. this is our first purchase. i researched for a long time and am seriously hopeful i will drink a second cup of coffee and suddenly all will be bliss. but its not looking good. my goal was to start with one device and add others as i learn how to use it. i would also be a premium subscription user. but alas, it seems we are not a fit. i will update should things change, but so far i am sad.

The Tile products are great and this was a good price for it. I bought it as a gift for my Fiance' but the manufactures box was all damaged and had various clearance and sale stickers on it like it came from a discount store. Wasn't able to cleanly take them off. As long as you don't need the box to look nice it's a great product.

I bought this product for my mother-in-law, who is always looking for either her phone or keys or her handbag. So this product was a perfect solution and she loves it. It took me about 15 minutes to setup the Tile App on her phone. The tiles work as expected. The only two negative aspects are 1) The range seems more like 60 to 80 feet especially if the signal from the phone needs to go through 2 walls to reach the tile you're trying to ring. 2) The Tile app seemed a little slow to respond from time to time. These reasons are why I gave the product only 4 stars (instead of 5 stars).....otherwise it works as advertised. Over-all I would recommend the product.

People who like these kinds of devices have typically steered clear of the TILE because after about 8 months, the battery dies and you have to buy a new TILE. Unfortunately, these are pretty expensive devices. Finally they have done right by the consumer and added the option to replace the battery after it wears down. It has now become the best bluetooth locating device out these. Unlike so many other, cheaper locators, the TILE is pretty reliable, so far as you're not too far away from the item you're trying to find. In addition, the app is pretty simple and works well. This particular model is probably the best of its kind. The other kind, and the much more expensive one, tracks your item by GPS, but for those you generally have to pay a sizeable monthly fee for the privilege of finding lost items. This one is good enough for me, though, and I have used it successfully on many occasions. It's a good item to have if you're a little sloppy about where you put your keys or phone (or other item) when you come in from work.

I like how these batteries can be replaced, even if they don't last long. I had issues with one of my trackers not activating properly and tile support helped me get it all set up. They were not able to fix it but after following a bunch of steps they sent me a new tile and a replacement battery for another older tile mate. I know there are more modern/updated trackers by Tile that work better (I really like my tile slim for my wallet), but I feel better knowing I have something on my important items (luggage, keys, backpack, wallet, cat) just in case.

I put it on my dog in case I need to try and track her down at any point. The distance is not as advertised. I had just two walls in between us and about 30 feet away and the bluetooth did not pick up. I expected a big more. I figured I would be able to ping her anywhere in my house from any other point in my house as I do not live in some grand home. I expect if I have to track her down in the woods, though, I will have better luck. There also seem to be other features in the app that would allow me to seek help from other users, so perhaps I will get my money out of this device. I hope I never do, but it's nice to have it on her collar.

So, I know the stated purpose of tile and it’s not for your pets. That said, I purchased a four pack; two dogs and two cats. The ones I bought are a bit big for my small cats/collars, but look fine on my dogs collars (pit mix and Doberman). This does not act as a GPS in a traditional sense but will show you when you’re near and can ring the tile to find out if your cat is inside the house or outside. If the animal gets away, this can provide a “hotter/colder” type of manner to find them. Rings fill green if you approach the tile. I have also found that it is excellent for stopping my Doberman dead in her tracks while barking at squirrels etc in the middle of the night and morning. Don’t have to get out of bed, it isn’t harmful/painful to her like a shock collar and I just hit “Find Jet” and it breaks her concentration from what she’s barking at. I feel a little more secure knowing my animals have these on.
