When I opened these, I was surprised and disappointed a little. I was expecting full silicone gloves to withstand the heat. They are a super thick woven material with silicon dots.I had very low expectations, but I used them last night when we grilled and I was able to reach my hand into the 550 degree grill to turn items over. I also used them to carry in a grill pan and only felt a little bit of warmth towards the end of my journey back to the house.I can't say that these are "pro level" and am going to ask our neighbor who smokes meats to try it out and see if they work as well as the ones he has.For now, these suffice.

Perfect when handing hot items or moving around coals or wood for you grill or smoker. They are a little bulky but will keep you from getting burnt.

I do a lot of BBQ Smoking and these were great for moving the racks around inside the smoker. I have an old pair of silicone gloves that have started to deteriorate so I thought I'd try these. I do like them a lot, but the only disadvantage compared to my silicon gloves is that I can handle the meat, brisket, ribs, chicken etc, directly. The only CON: These gloves I'm reviewing are made of a cloth-like material so I can't pick a piece of hot meat in my gloved hands and move it around as I can with silicone gloves. That is the reason for the 4-Stars.On the other hand, for indoor cooking, especially if you have a busy kitchen oven, these gloves are great. You can handle almost any kind of pan that's been cooking and these gloves are much better quality than "oven mitts" you find in the kitchen utensils isle of your local supermarket. As of this review, Amazon is selling the Commercial Chef High Heat Resistant BBQ Gloves with a coupon for $15 bucks. Grab 'em. It's a bargain!
