Only lasted 5 months

Used this product indoors under a window for 5 months. It’s a very dusty area that I live in so I made sure to clean/dust weekly, but even so 2 out of the 3 fans stopped working. One stopped turning altogether and when I opened it up to see if there was dust in the way I found no issues but it still wouldn’t rotate. The other one makes the squeakiest noise even after adding WD40 and it seems to have trouble rotating. So now only the middle fan works. Will be tossing out when this last fan burns out. Not a good product and it’s pretty expensive. I’ve had other brands before and they’ve lasted me almost 4 years. Very unsatisfied.

nice window fan even accounts for the screen so you don't have to remove it

Best slim fan I have bought

I have gone through three fans like this before purchasing this model. Each of them lasted me less than a year with at least one fan dying within a month. I have had no such problems with this fan. The reversibility of this model is simply removing it and turning it around. There is a control panel on each side. The controls have 3 settings (1-2-3 fans on) but if you cycle through those you then have 5 strength settings for each of the 3 base settings (15 total settings for those who hate math). Also if you hold the power button to turn it off rather than clicking it, the fan will save you last setting and use that when you turn it back on. It's a nice touch that saves you needing to cycle back through all the settings to get to your preference.

Fan pushes air outside, does not pull inside

The fan pushes air outside, which pulls air in any other open windows. That affects where it will be put, but otherwise the fan does exactly what we want. It is quiet, and is easy enough to use despite needing to click it literally 15 times to get your desired setting. The button works well, but it cycles through, low-med-high, then low for 6 temp settings, med for 6 temp settings, high for 6 temp settings. So it you want it set to High and turn off at 80 degrees you will need to press the button 21 times. A second button or slider could not have been prohibitively expensive. Also it is just a little too short for our window. One additional extension section would have been sufficient, but as it is we just have a bit of screened in space above the fan. If your window is tall, buy an extension piece. Otherwise I am happy with the fan.

Works fine

I have it mounted in an unused upstairs bedroom window (Pella windows) to exhaust hot air and thus draw in cool air through downstairs windows. Doesn't interfere with the screens. (Also has instructions for vertical install.) It has controls on both the in-facing and out-facing sides so you can mount it backwards to exhaust air. Not sure how water-resistant that is, but easy enough to just remove from the window during blowing rains, which you would probably want to do anyway to keep the fan motors from getting wet. I got the manual controls so I could use Alexa to control an outlet to remotely turn the fan on and off. Just set the controls to all 3 fans on and thermostat to lowest setting so that it runs whenever power is on. Not too loud, but that is very subjective anyway.

What a great set of fans in a SMALL case!!!

I've been looking for a small intake fan for the bedroom . . . and this fan wants to be 'small' so it fits in the sliding door so that the home's alarm system can still be used with the door in the 'vented' position. Well, the Bionaire Thin Fan does the job. Being only 6" (height), it fits into the door well and we can still use the alarm system at night. With the option of all (three) fans in operation (or just one), it cools the bedroom nicely. Great fan . . . everybody should have one!

Needs a remote control

I have only had this fan a couple weeks and I like it. It cools off my room, noice level is fine and I like the look of it. I feel people also can’t see in through the fan from outside. I wanted small so I didn’t feel like window was wide open. My problem with it is that it needs a remote control. The off and on buttons require u to hold for few seconds or else it just changes the settings instead of shutting off. I find it takes 2 hands cuz the pressure needed pushes the fan so I have to empty my hands and hold the fan in place and then hold button down just to turn off. I need a fan for second bedroom but I’m looking for one with different button design or a remote. But if that doesn’t bother you, then I recommend this fan.

This fan is exactly what I needed.

My master bath is split into two sections with the shower in one section and the tub in the other. The exhaust fan is in the section with the tub. The section with the shower has a window. This fan fits the window perfectly. No fogged up mirrors and a wife that doesn't fuss about fogged up mirrors that's priceless to quote the Master card commercial. On some reviews the fans being independently controlled is called into question. There are three fans. High is all three fans running, medium is the two out side fans running, and low is the one fan in the middle running. So yes you can turn the fans on one at a time you just don't get to pick which fan it is.

Holmes Group Bionaire Thin Window Fan

I don't know why they put a rating for a remote control this fan doesn't come with one. I had a fan like this years ago from Target. I like it for being a thin window fan since the windows don't really open wide enough for a regular size window fan. (window safety feature) The other window fan I had to tape to the window and the window sill to keep the wind from blowing it on to the floor. but this one fits perfectly. I will get more before the next summer.

FINALLY, NO MORE STEAM

We have a funky little bathroom, with no exhaust fan, but a window. the problem was the window only opens a few inches, and it on the low side of the room so the steam still just filled the room for an hour or so post shower. Installed this little guy and the mirror barely fogs now, and its unfogged by the time you dry off. SOOOO impressed with the amount of air this thing will move. Totally recommend if you need a smaller fan for a unique purpose.
