The Bionaire Thin Triple Window Fan is one of our favorite purchases. We have always had similar stye window fans. They typically are taller and thicker than this unit, have bigger blades (only 2) and a mechanical switch. Unfortunately, the standard fans will not fit in many windows. They are too larger for some basement casements, standard mobile homes, RV's and other uniquely shaped windows. This fan solved our problem. This fan will fit in the smaller older style mobile home windows. They are a mere 24 1/2 inches across and open only 11 inches. The fan seats securely and has ample cord length. Fan speed changes by running 1, 2, or all 3 fans. The fan is quieter than many 2 blade window fans we have had. The thermostat works well. The push button controls are adequate, but slightly inconvenient. The one button cycles through the fan speeds and then the thermostat settings. This fan gives us much better airflow than anticipated through all 4 rooms of the house. From previous reviews we considered getting two, but based on our experience so far, only one is necessary. Update May 2015 - This fan is still our favorite. It still works as well as the day we got it. No need for expensive temperature controlled units. This fans temperature control functions work great! We started using i more for night so we wouldn't get too cold when sleeping. It turns off when it reaches the set temp. Still one of our best buys ever.

Purchased two of these fans and this will be my second year using them. My house has very little cross ventilation so one in the living area and one in the bedroom keep the air moving around on the hot windless days. I can avoid using the A/C for a few weeks with this arrangement. They are light and easy to handle and set into a window and can be installed horizontally or vertically. Am pleased with the fans and recommend them.

I desperately needed a venting solution for my bathroom, and my attic space is too tiny to install a fan in the ceiling. This was the smallest window fan I could find. It fits my window very well. I turned it facing out (it does have switches on both side) to pull hot air out. It works fabulous! My bathroom mirror no longer fogs up during showers, and there isn't water running down the walls anymore. I was concerned with bugs and hot air getting in when it's not running, so I made a little cover for it. I just took heavy canvas fabric and sewed it over a piece of cardboard. It attaches with sticky velcro. It's a perfect solution for me. (I live in a warm climate so I don't have any severe temperature winter worries.) The cover keeps the AC in and the bugs out, and it's a snap to remove it when I shower. Very happy with this purchase!

I bought three in hopes of delaying my using AC this summer, here in St Louis, and to date, I have. As far as temperature control, I do not really use that feature. I just put all 3 in window that are in shade for a majority of given periods of the day to pull shaded air into my home, and in conjunction with a couple of fan stands and a box fan, I have kept my house, in specific areas, comfortable enough to have avoided using our AC. So in a 3,000 square foot home, keeping my AC off for just a month, has saved us a couple of hundred dollars, and we are almost done with two months in which we used our AC last year. The Thunderstorms have definitely helped with this.

I have a small room with a PC that generates a good amount of heat and this thing is a life saver. I can have it pull or push air by rotating the unit itself. (It has buttons on both sides) I can have it mounted vertical or horizontal. The only thing I wish this thing has was a timer built in. Or a Remote. Noise level didn't bother me but I didn't keep in full blast either. I would definitely recommend this. You may want to go with the Manual Switches only because its a little annoying if you want to go from High to Low (w/ No Temp Monitor) you need to cycle through the temps (5x for each Speed)

"2nd one I bought." I close my large sliding bedroom winow to just a few inches to where this fan sets vertically. Its my mini A/C, keeps me cool at night. It is very quiet. I only buy black fans "to keep the glare out during the day". I was so happy to find a quality fan in black. I use the options often. On cool nights I only need one blade circulating. On warm nights I only need 2 running. Hot days, I will run all 3. Its got power w less noise. Bought it for bedrooms specifically so i could lock up the backs of the sliders. I bought window locks on Amazon too. And I also cut dowel wood for extra safety to set in the will. I feel very safe sleeping with my window ajar and this fan in the corner keeping me nice and cool, here in Kauai, Hawaii. I do take it apart to clean it. If you do, take photos on yr cell to make sure u assemble it back correctly so the slider opporates as it came. I take all my fans apart because I am a clean fanatic.

My husband got me this same fan almost a decade ago when we first started dating so when we were in the market to get a new one I immediately clicked on this when I saw it and I have no regrets! I love that I can set a temp on the fan and it’ll turn off to maintain said temperature. The three fans may look small but they have great cooling power and it can also be used to pull air out- just flip it! There is waterproof controls on both sides of the fan. My only wish for it would be that it still came with a remote! I remember my first one had a remote, it’s probably still kicking around somewhere hahah

I ordered 3 of these, (one for exhaust and two for intake). They keep my condo(on the 3rd floor) so cool, I rarely use the AC. VERY HAPPY.

This fan looks and functions exactly as advertised - it's quiet and pushes a decent amount of air. It fits in just about any window, regular or casement and even comes with some extenders for odd shapes. The fan is reversible as advertised since there are controls on both sides. What's so hard about turning it around when you need the airflow in the opposite direction? For most people, you wouldn't be doing this anyways and the fan is perfect otherwise. I run this all day in my room and have had no problems in two months. If you're looking for a dependable no frills window fan, you've found it.

I read the reviews posted by other customers before buying the Bionaire Thin Triple Window Fan, and the negatives are pretty typical for any portable window fan. When I received my order and began using it, I was pleased that it's better than expected. For a window fan, the breeze it creates is very good. I am using it in Florida in the Fall when it's cool enough and the humidity low enough to keep the air conditioner turned off, especially at night. At high speed, I can feel the breeze on me when I'm in bed (the window is on the wall opposite my bed, thus the fan is pointed directly at me). At lower speeds for cooler nights, it's enough to bring in fresh air without chilling me too much, and of course the thermostat shuts it off when it gets too cool in the room. It would be nicer if the thermostat's temperature settings were easier to read. But I've memorized which dot lights up for which temperature. I'm very happy with this purchase. The sound it makes is a pleasing, relatively quiet fan-hum. And I very much like the fact that it doesn't take up much window space, allowing me to see through almost the entire window without removing it. The extenders are easy to use and the fan fits nicely in my standard size windows. It fits inside the window frame without pushing on the screen. UPDATE ON Feb. 9, 2014 One of the three fans has recently begun to wobble and make an annoying sound instead of the gentle hum that had helped me sleep when I first got this fan.
