The 60v battery is a 6 ah battery at 20 volts, but yet last massively longer than the 20v version. Its a confusing method by dewalt, but that's a long stated fact. I was under the impression this and the 60v were the same battery just this one is limited to 20v tools. The 60v batteries have been cheaper than this one for a long time so I got some of those. I seen these go on sale and got a set of these. The 60v battery is a lot bigger than this battery. It last longer and is usually the same price or slightly cheaper until recently. if you want run time this will run longer than 5ah battery, but just a little bit. Its a decent battery dont get me wrong but the 60v set the bar high for 6ah.

They don't run my leaf blower any longer than the lower Ah DeWalt batteries, but I got them at a great sale price. We'll see whether the shelf life is any better. The older style 18V batteries with stem connectors have lasted longer than some of my newer 20V MAX batteries (and they are still going). For me, it is all about the sale price since I need a supply of these for my newer outdoor tools. Happy with the leaf blower, line trimmer, and small chain saw that they drive.

When first got these batteries the charger indicated that the batteries were fully charged, but would not support use in tools. Discovered later that 2 amp and 4 amp batteries make a connection with out snapping into charger, but 6 and 8 amp batteries require an extra little push to connect to "click" into charger. There is nothing in directions to indicate this and there should be. If had known this from beginning would not have returned this product. I have overall been very satisfied with the Dewalt tools and battery system.

I got this battery for my leaf blower. Battery only lasts about 15 minutes before it is out of charge. At the rate it's going it'll take me about three weeks to get my lawn leaf free. It takes about 3 hours to fully recharge.

Of course I cannot actually test the battery capacities, but according to Dewalt, this battery holds 6 ah of power. However, to use one of these on a hand tool is fatiguing. So the battery has 20% more power, but it is probably 30% larger (more bulky) and I measured the weight and it is about 45% heavier than a standard Dewalt 5 ah battery. Soooo, they really are terrible to use with a drill or grinder, unless you are really just needing to build up arm strength on the job. I tried to GIVE them to some of the workers at my construction business - the guys would not take them! I ended bringing them home and using them on work lights I keep in my garage for working on my Jeep. That extra weight and bulk is great for a light you just set in one place and leave for hours!

CHarged both batteries and neither battery life indicator works. Will return them.

I should have bought the flex volt 6 amp. I am a contractor and have all the batteries made. For a few dollars more flex volt battery lasts much longer
So
Battery's purchased a year now and don't hold charge starting April and down hill since

One worked good but one will not take a charge.

So I've had my batteries for almost a year. One of the batteries will not charge any more. Its sad because these have some good juice in them. I thought it was a fake dewalt battery at first because the code on the battery doesn't come up found on dewalts website. I think that is an item scan error because it happened with 2 different batteries, 1 from Amazon 1 from home depot. Only 1 battery ive noticed so far out of 5 that I have doing this though. I'd love to give 5 stars but just the hassle of getting a replacement will be annoying. I did search for issues on this battery though and someone had the exact issue I had. He goes through details of how the battery just lost some of its 20v charge and did something not recommended to fix his battery but it did resolve the issue and the battery is now charging again. I can't be 100% certain his method is a permanent fix. I also can't explain why it loses some of its charge to not recharge when this happens, but, just some info to throw out there. Otherwise I would've given 5 stars for length of use, power when charged and I have been using it for saws, drills, and sanders. I do enjoy dewalt but it's a mild disappointment for this big 6ah battery (NOT FLEXVOLT)
