I have an older car (2003) and the check engine light goes on a lot.... sometimes it's big stuff but most the time is bull**** but I can't take the chance so once a month I was dropping into the mechanic to get my light checked. It was annoying and inconvenient for both of us. This thing has changed my life! It works. Buy it and keep it in your car.

This was super easy to use. The dealership gave me an estimate of $500 with 2-3 hours of intensive labor to fix an issue I needed corrected for my state inspection. I left, plugged this into my car, found the code and what it meant, went to YouTube, then advanced auto parts. I was able to correct the issue all by myself with an $8.99 part and 20 minutes.

Cheap price, it's very simple, nothing fancy not much to it. Recently thanks to youtube, I have been doing my own car repairs. As soon as the check engine light comes on, I am able to check it, Google the code, and then google the repair. Thanks to the scanner, I have changed the spark plugs, egr valve, oil pressure sensor. Its satisfying doing my own repairs.

Great for a diy person or at least to get the code and not get ripped off my mechanics trying to sell you other work. I use it just to get the code and figure out whether i can do the work myself or need a pro. Easy to use and pretty actually(compared code to that given by auto zone).

You'll wish you had purchased this OBD2 Kobra code reader a long time ago. It's will the best purchase you've made in a long time (maybe the best purchase ever)!! Do not let the low price fool you! It is worth it's weight in gold!

A diagnostic check at my dealer is about $150. So the device could save you some money or at least keep you informed about proposed repairs. It is easy to operate.
