quit charging

$300 and 3 months later, it quit charging. Has anyone else had this problem. I have followed all of the "troubleshooting" steps, still......nothing. Will be sending it back for "warranty repair". Very disappointed in the product.

IF have oodles of time get this robot

It worked remarkably well for the first two weeks. Now, it requires more time and care than a newborn. There is always something why the machine won't start; it returns within minutes of leaving the charging dock. I just spent 30 minutes removing the bumper per customer care and cleaning the machine, and the same issues. Only buy this product if you have lots of time to baby a machine.

Don’t waste your money

This thing “sucks” and not in the way it’s intended. We have dust, pet hair (two dogs) and also people hair. I only have it set to do the living room, kitchen and bathroom (approx 650 sq ft. If that!) I have a small rug in the entry way and it leaves chunks of fur on it every time. Doesn’t seem to have the suction required to do the job. Yes I clean it all out after every use, as well as sweep in between. Is our house spotless? No. Is it filthy? No. Still can’t keep up. Battery life is good and it’s pretty quiet.

Worse in every way than prior versions

The experience with the Roomba i3 is so bad I was compelled to write my first review on Amazon in a very long time.I've had it for half a year and so far it is worse, in every measurable way. Yes, it cleans the floor, under the following conditions: One, the phase of the moon and the alignment of the stars, do not upset it. Two, it feels like it, in that particular moment. Three, when it does venture out, it will inevitably not find its way home. Four, you will find it unconscious and uncharged more often than you will find the floor under foot clean. Notice, it does not have a name because it has not endeared itself.Do not buy this version. Under any circumstance. Any glowing review cannot be real. My Roomba 780 from 2016 was a workhorse until 2023, her name was Rosie. A few battery pack changes, countless rollers/brushes replaced, but Rosie would clean the whole house no problem and she would return herself to recharge 95%+ of the time. The times Rosie failed to make it home was generally due to a shoelace, misplaced keys on the floor, or other reasonable obstacle. If I could repair my 780s internal charging apparatus (batteries would no longer charge, regardless of replacement) I would.

Mind of his own

This vacuum cleaner I kno longer call it a Roomba (Rudy). Does what ever it wants to do. Clean when it wants to. Charge when it wants too. Has a mind of its own. Started out great. Guess he’s tired of doing his job. Customer service can’t do anything with him either

So disappointed

Received this as a gift replacing a cheaper model. I wish I had the other brand back. I have long hair and every week have to remove my hair from all moving parts to vacuum. I have hardwood floors and 2 cats I had to swiffer my floors after vacuuming to remove the litter it spread everywhere. Only had it 6 months and had to buy replacement kit for all parts as they all wore out. I only have about 700 Sq feet for it to clean yet I have to divide the chore into 2 sessions because it doesn't have enough battery to do the whole house. Save your money and check out lesser priced units..reviews for this are very very misleading. Not a good option.

One off defect?

It has moderate cleaning ability but doesn't respond to virtual walls, skips areas in a large room. I have owned more than 5 different models over the years and this is the first that has been a dud. Went to customer support but no reply yet

Constant connection issues

I have three of these vacuums, one for each floor. They are all set to run automatically every day, but not a single day goes by that I don’t have to deal with at least one of the vacuums having connection issues. If it was the same one every time then I would believe it’s just a faulty vacuum, but it’s all three of them. If there is a connection issue, then don’t charge even though they’re sitting on the charger. I have to reset them to get them to reconnect. Once they reconnect, then they start charging. I’ve previously had a 2 deebot vacuums and never had this issue. I got this vacuum because it look like it would do good with dog hair. It works decent enough and is good for hard surfaces, but it’s not a substitute for regular vacuuming on carpet. It’s more the equivalent of sweeping.

Pretty Disappointing

First of all, this is my first cleaning robot purchase. I've been wanting one of these little robots for a long time ever since the early 2000s.I have a cat that sheds a light amount of hair, and I live in a flat 600 sq ft apartment. The iRobot maps out the apartment pretty well, but for some reason it doesn't always clean the rooms thoroughly even when items on the floor are put away. If you task it to clean the apartment, sometimes it will clean a corner of a room in one session, sometimes it won't in another, so it seems kind of dumb in the actual vacuuming path.Furthermore the vacuum itself is pretty weak. Near the cat's litterbox, I have a silicone mat to trap dirt from the box. When the iRobot goes on the mat, it doesn't really pick up any of the dirt on, or at the edge of the mat on the floor, so the vacuum has quite low sucking power. The robot itself is pretty loud, louder than my handheld vacuum, so that's unusual.Thirdly, the cleaning chamber fills up really quickly with my cat's hair and the hair gets trapped in the vacuum's airways. I have to use a handheld vacuum to vacuum the iRobot's vacuum...this vacuum is marketed for people with pets and pet hair, so this is pretty disappointing.Overall, given that these robots have been out for 20+ years, I am quite disappointed with its performance for how much you pay for these.Note: my original unit purchased on Amazon was dead on arrival, it wouldn't activate the vacuum, and I had to return it. My second unit is at least functioning, but that might indicate the fragility of these cleaning robots.

It came with no replacement parts

Disappointed. Day 3 of using the iRobot and it lost one of its edge sweeping brushes. There are no spares in the box. I purchased this to replace another brand that I bought three months ago, which was a cheap model and would no longer take a charge after 3 months. That was thinner and able to get under more things. This one just didn't seem to clean well. I wonder if it was because it lost a sweeper. Disappointed that there were no spare parts with this.
