Seems a little gimmicky but is a good flat iron

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a new item that I thought was going to be really useful for curls. But it's really primarly a flat iron. It works well for that, thus the reason for the 4 stars. But, am I convinced that the steam feature is soo much bettter, not really. Also, it's not real intuitive on how to much the tool seperates. There is a locking mechanism, but even when it is open, its not that much seperation. I know other flat irons I have open much wider than this one, so I was trying to pull it wider. All in all, good product, but if you already have a good flat ironm, feel free to skip this buying this.

Steam powered, sleek design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s been a little bit since I’ve used a flat iron on my hair. It’s fairly straight with a tiny little bit of wave. It is very thin, though. I’ve never used a steam heated flat iron but the instructions to fill the chamber were very easy to follow. I used the lowest temperature, which is what they instructed for fine/thin hair. Many years ago I was a licensed cosmetologist but it’s been 5 years + since I’ve worked on hair and I’m just a bun it up and go kind of person now(that mom life) I tried my hands at curling with it but I didn’t have any product to put in my hair so it wouldn’t take. I could see this giving nice wavy curls to your hair, though(and the instructions even tell you how to do it, if you’ve never used a flat iron in that way) The design is sleek with the black and dark purple. It’s pretty bulky and has a little weight to it so this isn’t really a product you could just carry around in your bag. Can’t wait to give it a try again with some holding hair products and see if I can actually achieve a curl. Includes heat protection glove and bottle to easy fill the steam chamber with.

High quality hair straightener, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically use a 1" flat iron and was excited about the wider plates. For the first use, I did not use the steaming option but rather used this as a standard flat iron and was impressed with how quickly I was able to straighten my hair and how shiny in looked. For the second use, I decided to try the steaming function. It took a bit to correctly fill the reservoir and get a hang of using this function. Overall, I did not see a need to use the steaming on my hair and will continue to use as a normal hair straightener. This is a great, easy to use product and I love the lock that holds the straightener together and makes it easy to store and easy to travel with,

Nice product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for a review. My opinion is honest and true. I opened it up and it's durable. And has a nice width with a round outside for Curling. I love love love how the flat iron has a switch to lock it closed and slide it down to open it. The flat iron has a odd, low, and high turn dial . That's a super nice benefit. The water container for steam is really small but it seems to work well but too much steam just enough. There is a heat button on the inside that you can set different settings to. It heats up super quick. Less that two minutes. I noticed though the steam only works when the iron is closed on the hair. It took me forever to figure that out. I straightened my hair and curled it. My hair did not get tangled or caught like others I have had. It curled really nicely. Oh and the last thing it came with a glove which is super handy. I recommend this product. It was great for my wavy hair and will be great for my daughters c Curly hair. The steam helps ease the curls into a soft curl or straight. I can't forget the little water bottle that comes with it for easy adding to water storage on the iron.

Great product, good quality and appearance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This item came with a glove included and a reservoir that holds water volume up to for 1-3 styling sessions. It does have temperature control driven by buttons located at the inner face of the product. This item has an Automatic Shut-off feature. Should you forget to turn off the iron, it will automatically shut off after 1 hour. For easier storage, the plates of the flat iron can be locked together. To do that, just press plates together and push the plate lock switch down to lock the plates. The heat selection includes 300, 350, 410, 430, and 450 °F. It does include a steam control, so you can use with or without steam. It’s a genuine ceramic iron, good quality and it helps preserving natural curl pattern on hair style. I have used it to straightener my hair and worked nicely. I would recommend this item.

Pretty decent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never tried a steam brush like this, but so far, so good. It seems to do a good job with drying the hair and straightening it too. It takes a little longer than average but I think it's just because I'm still getting the hang of it. Definitely give it a try

Works nicely

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This straightener comes with a reservoir to add water to use as a steamer. You have the option of having the feature off, low, or high. The dial is located on the back of the steamer. I found the steam to come out unevenly and in bursts, so I prefer to keep the steam off and use it as a regular straightener. I like that the plates are wide, which make it quick to slide through the length of my hair. I have loose wavy hair and this tool does a great job at smoothing out my hair. I like that the outside of the plates are rounded and that makes it possible to create gentle waves by twisting the straightener as I run it through my hair. It looks fine doing it that way, but my favorite way is to run the straightener down and then curl inwards at the ends. The large size of the plates result in soft and bouncy ends. It produces a sleek and refined look that I love. One feature that I’m not a huge fan of is that the power button and temperature control buttons are located on the inside of the straightener. Aside from feeling like the straightener doesn’t open wide enough to comfortably reach the buttons, I feel like you need to take extra care if adjusting the temperature when the tool is on.

Nice steamer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hot Tools hair steamer is a good value. It comes with a small water bottle so you can easily put water into the hair steamer. I like that it comes with a glove so you can protect your hand from the heat. The hair steamer is great for straightening and doing sleek hairstyles.

Finally straight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hot Tools straightener was easy to set up with the steaming option. The steam water storage fills easily and attaches to the steamer without issue. The straightener heated quickly and the steam feature was convenient without having to have a separate step.

Good Straightener

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good straightener. I don’t know exactly what I was expecting using the steam, but I didn’t notice much difference from a regular straightener. The difference may show over time, since the steam should be less damaging to hair. I have very fine hair, so I did not have to fill the tank more than once. My one complaint is that it has a wide plate… my hair is 3 inches past my shoulders, but I could not use this tool to curl my hair. You would have to have extremely long hair to do that.
