I'm not sold on the steam thing. I didn't feel like this got my hair as straight or shiny as a traditional iron.I used distilled water in the resevoir and filled it up all the way, but on high, the tank went to almost empty quickly. As a regular iron it would be great, but the gimmick is steam right? It just wasn't for me or my hair. Also, I prefer a dial that allows us to choose the temperature instead of pre programmed ones.It is a beautiful iron though. Sleek and large, floating plates. Digital interface is cool. But looks aren't everything and I think regular irons are the way to go. That being said, I love a lot of Hot Tools stuff, like their dryers. But this one missed the mark, especially with textured hair.

I flat iron my hair nearly daily, so I was excited to try something that could be less damaging. Unfortunately I'm just not a fan of this. It was reasonably easy to use, but the results were not as good as a regular flat iron - I was still left with a lot of frizz and my hair was not completely straight especially in my "stubborn" spots.

I wanted to love this but I don’t. I have fine wavy/curly in parts frizzy fair. It straightens my hair but not very well. It doesn’t smooth my hair out, it still looks frizzy and has occasional bends in it. I’ve tried L’anges version of this straightener and it wasn’t any better. I think the concept is great but it just hasn’t been perfected yet. I’d stick to your regular straightener if I were you.

I thought this straightener worked fine as a straightener. I have another one that I like better though. The big deal with it is the steam option which I'm not sure really adds much. I didn't like the extra step of filling the reservoir and the stream ran out quickly. I had reservations about whether you should be stream straightening your hair anyway.I did think it worked quickly and got my hair pretty straight. I wasn't sure it was as smooth as my other straightener though.Overall a decent straightener but nothing to get too excited about.

I want to love it but I can't. It gets hot pretty fast and can style my extra thick 2a-2b hair efficiently. I don't need to go over the same strand 2 or 3 times before seeing good results. The issues is that part of the price tag goes to the function to stream, and I don't have distilled water. I don't want to store a two gallon jug of water under my sink so that I can pour a tiny bit into a thumb-sized bottle to steam my hair a few times a week just because it makes my hair looks a bit better than unsteamed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that this straightener works on all hair types. It is quick and easy. I used this straightener when my hair was a little damp and it dried and straightened by hair quickly. The heat settings have a wide range for the desired temp which I really appreciated. However, this product is very pricy and I did not care for the steamer of this tool. The water reserve only holds a small amount of water and ran out very quickly on my head of THICK hair. The steam comes out very quickly and doesn't keep the same momentum through the whole strip of hair leaving the ends a tad frizzy still. This straightener is not a one swipe. I did have to go over my hair a few times. I do not have curly hair. I would consider my hair slightly wavy.

The water chamber, where the user inserts distilled water broke after a few months of use. It's a weakness in the design. I was pleased with this iron the short time I used it.
