Bought this instead of a Brita system after having a few break unexpectedly. This is a super slow water filter (was filled before bedtime and still hadn’t filtered through the water after 6 hours). The filter cartridge has been leaking charcoal since day one even when following manufacturer instructions to set up the new filter. Water quality is to be expected with no taste issues. Would not purchase again. Going to go back to a Brita filtration system.

We’ve owned two of these. The spigot breaks off after about 10 mos of use.

Filtered water tastes great, filters each last 2-3 months, the blinking indicator isn't really that important, I just wait until the filter performance slows down to be annoying enough and then I swap it out. However after about 6 months the handle snapped off. Looking at the mechanism inside there's a tiny plastic piece that bears all the force required to move a super strong spring that keeps the valve closed, which seems like a design flaw. Now I see a lot of other reviews with the same exact problem, so I know it's not just me. Their warranty is a measly 90 days, and all you get if you complain is a $10 coupon -- honestly I'd be fine with paying for a replacement handle every six months, but they don't sell them. Seems like a waste to have to throw away a perfectly good pitcher otherwise, but it's impossible to use without the handle and I don't have the fabrication skills to rig something up that can handle the force required. (Side note: tried to upload photos, but the target site gives a generic error when adding photos)

The dispenser lever broke before Christmas, shortly after the 90 day warranty period ended. The filter outlasted the dispenser. Perhaps we were too rough on it, but I think I would be surprised if that were the case. It was home use for 2 adults only. I question the design & quality of the part which broke. PUR offered a coupon for less than 1/3 the unit cost, as it was after the warranty period.

Been using PUR Classic 18 Cup Water Dispenser for more than 4 years , never had an issue . But this particular product " PUR Ultimate 18 Cup Dispenser with Lead Reduction " has the issue with the lever which is made of cheap plastic and is too delicate . I definitely prefer the classic version the lever/tap is strong compared to this one .

I bought this filter about 1 week ago. The first few days, it was working magically. Now, the water doesn’t even filter down. Not sure what to do with this. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I really like this filter but I’m not sure what I’m Doing wrong.

Similar to other reviews, we've had ongoing issues with the fragile plastic lever/handle on the pitcher. About 3 months after we bought it, the white plastic covering for the handle broke (when you let go of the lever and it snaps back, this covering tends to fall off). About 9 months after that, the entire lever broke so now the pitcher is unusable. The filter is also prone to trapping air bubbles so we frequently had to clear out the air bubbles so that it wouldn't stop the water flow. Other than those 2 main issues, the pitcher is great. It's unfortunate that those are significant issues.

Loved this but the handle broke and its just me and my 30 year old daughter so disappointed that its not sturdier. Not sure if we are going to invest in another one.

This water filter is great expect this is the second one I've bought were the handle just breaks off after a couple months the first time we assumed we were too rough with it so made sure to be extra gentle with the second one and not flip the handle all the way down that maybe that was what caused the first one to break but after 4 months with the second unit it broke off I've had the Brita pitcher for years until I bought the pur sink filter and enjoyed the taste much better but now I might just have to go back to Brita since that pitcher never broke on us
