Great for Everything but Fitness Tracking

Really nice watch for notifications from your favorite social apps when you're not right next to your phone or your phone is on silent. However, as far as fitness-tracking is concerned, this is not it. The calories and steps I've taken that it tells me are way off compared to the new Fitbit on my other wrist, which seemed away more accurate and help me adjust my macros. The sleep tracking is okay, but I also prefer fitbit's version over this. A couple things I do like about this watch though are how I can use it as a remote to take a picture on my phone, control Spotify while I'm working out, and have simplified GPS instructions always on my wrist whenever I ask for directions on Google maps. This watch is pretty much good for everything except for a fitness tracking. Hopefully Samsung will release new software that incorporates the heart rate sensor into calculating calories and steps and catch up with Fitbit in the fitness realm.

Doesn't work the same on non Galaxy Android phones

I bought this watch for the ECG feature. Turns out, Samsung forces you to use a Galaxy phone in order to use this feature, not because it doesn't work on other phones, simply because they want you to buy a Galaxy phone. Very disappointed with their product strategy here. The watch is otherwise very attractive with good sleep tracking and health app. It requires installation of 2 apps (health app and watch app) and another plugin for the type of watch (i.e. the Galaxy watch active2 plug in. Each is over 200MB. All that is large and cumbersome.I managed to get ECG working on a non Galaxy phone through some searching online so I'm keeping it, otherwise it would have gone back to Amazon

meh. Not really worth the money

eh. I bought it just to see what all the hype was about with smart watches. It's OK I guess. I use it to read texts while driving or to see who is calling. That's really about it. The sleep tracker works pretty good, but then my watch is dead the next day cause it sucks the battery dry. I've tried several different apps just to see how well they work. The texting was neat at first, actually writing a text one letter at a time with my finger, but that got old quick because it messes up about every third letter, randomly capitalizes letters and there's no way to change it. Delete the letter and retry and nope it's capitalized again. So now I use the speak to text function which mostly works. And since I don't use it that often, the battery usually lasts 2 days on a single charge

Best money I ever spent. With a one year update.

I love this watch, the only time I take it off is to charge it. It is apart of me. No complaints. Worth the money, and I couldn't be happier I went with this watch. Everything I buy that's electronic mostly is a Samsung. It syncs with it all.I could write a book on this watch, or I can just say buy it."Almost year update."It out of nowhere did an update and during the reboot cycle something went wrong and it got stuck in a boot loop till it died. After that I could not turn it on and it has no interaction with the charger. I'm reaching out to Samsung because its still under its 1 year warranty. We will see what happens. But I still love this watch.

Doesn’t distinguish between cycling and steps.

A like the Samsung Active 2 "looks" and could and "display" was extraordinary. I Cycle and Walk (count daily steps). While Cycling the Samsung recorded miles cycled and would also record steps as if I where walking. I wore a My Garmin Vivoactive 3 and the same time. Heart Rate and Sleep monitoring where about the same. (The Samsung would better account for long breaks in sleep.) I would have preferred the Samsung except it didn’t provide the promised ECG monitoring so I returned it to Amazon within 30 Days. I am considering purchasing the Samsung Watch 3 in the future. For ECG, I purchased an “Omron Complete” (combination ECG & BP Monitor) that works well for EKG. Since using this device on daily basis I am doubtful as to whether the Samsung Watch EKG would benefit me measuring “my type of Afib”. The battery life was terrible.

Worth buying

This watch is great overall. Battery lasts at least 3+ days with moderate/heavy use. I can select which application notifications I want to see on the watch. Important ones pop up, others just stay on the phone. Nifty little assistant when I am away from my desk and on the floor at work. The watch starts vibrating to remind me about my conference calls so I can get back to my computer in time. It has a nice interface and is easy to understand. The only down side that I found quite frustrating is the lack of watch faces that come on the device. Sure, there are tons that you can purchase but the last thing I want to do is spend money on a watch face...could have, at the very least, made a few more color options for the default faces available. Lastly, this watch does NOT include a charging brick...only the USB cable. I had an extra so no big deal...but for the price...c'mon now.

Who Says You Can't Be Active and Productive?

I work in a nursing home, so washing hands is a must, and having a watch that is water-resistance is a must. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is great when it comes to water resistance features. A water lock for locking the screen to not worrying about wrist calling someone or sending some message to a random contact. The ability to control music while walking or jogging is a good feature. Oh, getting notifications on the wrist makes it easier not to pull the phone out.The watch has made it easier to maintain a productive and active work day. The watch also provides daily briefings to provide updates on your day.I have not tried the sleep tracking feature much. However, I have given the heartbeat a try, and I have to say it seems to be decent with the tracking. I wouldn't go so far to say it is 100%, but close to 75%.I would recommend this watch to anyone who is active, productive, or both.

I like it but

I've been testing it for few days and everything work as it should, but just couple things are kind of annoying, first is when you lying in bed and you wanna take a look at your watch, you have to twist your wrist few times or tap the screen to awake the watch.it is annoying but acceptable. the second one I don't know it happen to you all or just me, I try to send voice message from no matter what app I use on my phone, they are all vague when I replay it .and to solve that issue I must disconnect this watch when I try to send voice message. hope samsung patch this on next update. battery life is outstanding ,it could last 2 and half days even on heavy use of it. it is a good watch without compare with apple watch but I'm a android user so I just hope samsung do better job on active 3.

Don't buy refurbished.

The watch looked used, but oh well I cn deal with that. However, after a week of use, it would continue to shut off to cool down. No fix for this. Waste of money and time.

A great watch, but...

I changed my old S3 Frontier to get the latest model. However I'm a bit disappointed by the following points :- The virtual rotating bezel is not as convenient as the mecanical ring that was on my S3. The path that triggers the ring is thin and you often have to come at it twice before it works.- Some apps I used with the S3 are no longer available with the Active 2 (some of the watch faces I've bought, the speedometer app from Samsung, ...). It looks like "backward compatibility" is a kind of joke at Samsung's.- The disconnection issues I had with the S3 are still there : sometimes if you don't ask the Gear app to reconnect with the watch, it won't do it by itself. This way you can get disconnected four hours (without knowing it) and miss some important notifications.- Be aware Android users, this watch does better with a Samsung phone! For instance, the Calendar app I have on my Huawei just send basic notifications for events. If you have a Samsung phone the calendar app will interact with the watch a much better way. I tried to insall the Samsung calendar app on my phone but of course it will only run on .... Samsung phones.I hope all the above didn't give you a too negative feeling about this watch, which is amazing from many other aspects :-). Sorry Samsung.
