It is portable and easy to read. It does let you know if you are to far away. I haven't had it long enough to know about the battery life but I have used it often.

Braun has always been such a reliable brand, I know my parents still have our Braun thermometer from when we were kids! Love this product for a number of reasons: the accuracy, how fast it is, how long it holds a charge, and how small/light weighted it is to take with us when we need!
