This umbrella is fantastic and affordable! The frame is very sturdy. The fabric is durable. And, most importantly, it's so easy to use. The umbrella setup took all of 5 minutes. We saw other, very similar umbrellas for over $1,300 at our local furniture store. That said, this Purple Leaf umbrella was very affordable and the quality is downright awesome. Plus, the customer service at Purple leaf is great! When I opened the box, I did not find the crank needed to swivel the umbrella 360 degrees. Within three days of emailing the company, Purple Leaf sent me not one - but two - hand cranks at no charge. I strongly recommend this Purple Leaf umbrella!!!

Used on trex patio deck . Base is lightweight and requires heavy duty screws to secure it to deck boards .

Great looking, high quality, sturdy umbrella. This has really extended the use of our patio. This isnt a cheap big-box store umbrella. The 360° rotation and tilting means you can control where the shade lands: During the high noon sun we leave it horizontal (flat). When the sun is lower on the horizon we tilt it vertically. It handles light breezy days but at 11' wide it can act as a sail so be extra careful when it's tilted completely vertical. We added four bags of sand for extra weight and place a rubber mat under the base so it wouldn't slide on our smooth concrete patio. This is not cheap, especially after adding the base (not included). But it's very nice and the manufacturer immediately addressed an issue I had and they also followed up.

Love the color and versatility. I am a bit concerned about the very top where the material rubs on the frame as it looks like it was assembled just a bit off, could add a patch if necessary, as it wouldn't show. But this is worlds ahead of the less expensive kind and we just love it! Bought a base without realizing it did not have wheels so bought the one with wheels and returned the other. This was completely our fault (looking at too many and getting confused, lol). Buy the base with wheels, unless you'll never move it. It's worth it to us as we want it out of our vision while not using it

This patio umbrella is worth the higher cost over others that look similar but are less expensive and include a base. Earlier this summer I bought 5 patio umbrellas knowing I was going to return 2-3. We started with unpacking the least expensive and worked our way up in price. One broke within the allowed return period and so was returned for refund. We like the Sunnyglade brand one and almost returned this Purple Leaf brand one without even opening the box, but my family is very glad I insisted on opening it to see if we could tell why it was so much more expensive. It is obviously better made - stronger, moves less in the same wind as the Sunnyglade is subjected to, and the vent at the top is truly gapped so it actually allows warm to escape. One of the very best features of this Purple Leaf brand is its base specific to it, even though you have to pay for it separately - the base is on wheels which is great for fine-tuning its placement and shading benefits! All of my family highly recommends this patio umbrella.

The umbrella and base (optional-water/sand) seem to be very well made. We have had several wind events since the umbrella has been up and there has been no issues with the umbrella in the stored position. I do notice when the wind is between 15-20 the umbrella does start to sway a little in the extended position (but not an issue). The included cover is a nice benefit and easy to put on and off. The instructions could be better. They are in small print for one and they could included better detail in the description. The optional base is nice and sturdy but the umbrella is difficult to move even though the base does have wheels. Overall I am very please the product.
