Had it for a month and it quit working! Very disappointed to spend so much money on something and have it quit!

Not for me

I had a hot tool curling iron and when I broke that one, I replaced it with this one. I find this iron and my last iron hard to curl my hair. I had to curl my hair over and over again just so the curl would stay. I think ceramic curling wands are easier on my hair and the curls stay curl and it’s less damaging.

Would not recommend

I wish it would heat up and stay hot. Used it multiple times and it barely curls my hair.

Meh

This curling iron was the deciding factor that with my fine hair I just can’t use this style iron. If your hair is like medium thickness, fine and generally straight naturally I recommend using a ceramic iron or wand. I returned this item.

Burnt my hair

Worked great for about 6 months. Then starting shorting out and legitimately burnt the hair off my head. I wrapped a piece of hair around the barrel and it melted faster than I could remove it because the iron was BEYOND hot.

Curling Iron

I bought this curling iron 8 months ago and should have returned it as soon as I opened the box. Does not want to stay closed when you curl your hair; hinge does not stay closed. Now getting worse. Curling irons should last several years, not several months. Purchasing a different brand.

Decent quality for the price, but curls don't last.

Curls would fall out after an hour or two. My hair has curled super well for 20 years with a cheap Conair curling iron. This would curl it nicely but the curls would be gone an hour later. I've never had an issue with this with a curling iron before. I even tried high heat and no luck.

Not as good as my past curling irons

This is the 1st Hot Tools curling iron I bought; I didn't care for it. I've used curling irons for decades, almost daily. I needed to replace my last curling iron & there happened to a promo for this one, so I bought it. I do not have thick or course hair, and my hair will hold curls with previous curling irons. This Hot Tools one did not curl my hair as well...the curls had mostly fallen out before I even left the house. If I have to wait longer for this to heat up on the max. temp or keep my hair on the iron for longer, it's not as good as the past curling irons I've had. Another downside is that it does not have auto shut-off feature. I unplug it after using but in the rare chance I forget, it's nice to have it auto shutoff. I didn't want to waste time giving this a chance & returned it. Got a Conair one which is what most of my past curling irons have been.

Basic

I was not wowed by this curling iron. I also did not think the barrel was an extended length as it was the same length as all my other regular curling irons. It did heat up fast but my hair would not glide through it nicely. Instead it made a ripping noise as it went through my hair. Overall it was very basic. Received this through stellar product testing panel.

Beautiful, but not for long hair

Visually, this curling iron is stunning. The gold looks beautiful and premium. It is also lightweight and comfortable to hold. This curling iron heated up quickly, which is great in the mornings when I’m low on time. It also maintained temperature throughout use. I have long hair of medium thickness and choose a heat setting of around 380 degrees. The 1 ¼ barrel size is perfect for creating natural loose beach waves. It does not produce too much volume and creates an easy and wearable everyday look. However, the curling iron falls short on performance for me. While beautiful, I found that the clamp was squeaky and grips onto my hair. My hair would often get caught in the clamp mechanism and would not run smoothly between the clamp and barrel as I pull down to curl. I also noticed that the tip where you can hold it would get slightly warm throughout use. It was definitely touchable, but I did worry that I would be met with heat each time I reached for it. Additionally, I have long hair past my chest and the barrel was too short to wrap the entire length of my hair around. It was fine for my shorter face framing pieces, but I struggled to curl the rest of my hair. For each piece of hair, I would need to curl it in multiple sections, but the effects were minimal. This curling iron would be best suited for those with hair that is a couple of inches past shoulder length at most. I was given this hair care item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
