I purchased this at target almost a year ago. I believe I have either the 3/4" or 1" barrel. It's easy to use, with intuitive temperature control, a comfortable handle/clamp, and I love the style and longevity of the curls. With that in mind, this is an excellent curler for the price. However, I was surprised to discover this curling iron has no automatic shut-off. This has been a standard feature in all of my styling tools for the last decade and unfortunately, I find its absence to be too much of a hazard. I am very much in the habit of turning off and unplugging hair tools after every use, but there were a handful of times where I would leave for work in a rush and come home nine hours later to find it as hot as I left it. I would caution anyone purchasing this to consider if they can manage turning it off after every use *without fail*, or if they should upgrade to the slightly more expensive Hot Tools 24K collection that includes this feature. I have made this mistake too many times and will be mindful to only purchase styling tools with auto shut-off from now on.

Love the curling iron. Hate the cord. Immediately twisted right out of the box. Makes it a pain to use because of it always being tangled.

Kinda awkward to use. Iron is very long Probably not ideal if you have shorter hair.

Nice big barrel but the rubber handle started decomposing after 4 years. Very unpleasant to hold a sticky handle while styling hair so I had to throw it away.

These don’t really get hot, I own a pair of Babyliss curling iron and the Babyliss get hotter then the Hot Tools. It’s nothing pro about these curling iron.

Its good, just not $40 great. Luckily I was able to snag this while it was on sale. I have to turn it on the hottest setting to get a real long lasting curl from it. For reference I have long fine hair. I have had revlon irons in the past that have performed better, but for $27. I'll keep it!

I don't know how long curling irons are supposed to last. I bought this brand on the recommendation of my stylist. It worked fine for a while; I used it about once a month. And then last week it fritzed and got super hot and burned my hair and now it won't get hot. It just gets slightly warm (think holding a cup of coffee in your hands). All told, I got maybe 30 uses out of it. So if that's all you need out of a curling iron, go for it. Otherwise, if they offer electronic insurance for this product, you might want to get it.

Pros: leaves hair looking glossy and tames flyaways. Cons: Doesn’t hold curls AT ALL. Stopped working in under a year, won’t even turn on. Meanwhile my 15 year old con air is still going and holds my curls for 3 days. Wasn’t impressed.

Bought this for a blow out look. It does work well and curls last long, but doesn’t really give dramatic curls like wands do. If you want your curls to be looser this is did you.

Couldn’t pass up the great deal. It heats up fast and stays hot but hair gets caught at the bottom of the barrel and it doesn’t glide down my hair like my old one.
