Overall, my experience with this curling iron was mixed. While it boasts a beautiful design, its weight and the inadequate length of the barrel were significant drawbacks for me. On the positive side, it heats up quickly, and the adjustable temperature gauge allowed me to find the ideal setting for my stubbornly straight hair. I appreciated how well it maintained heat, enabling me to style my hair efficiently. However, due to my long hair, I could only achieve loose curls because the barrel didn't accommodate all of my hair at once. When I tested it on a friend with shorter, naturally curly hair, she encountered similar issues with the barrel length. While the curling iron performed better on her hair type, it still fell short in terms of practicality. Overall, while it may work better for those with shorter hair, its limitations with longer hair and the barrel size are notable considerations for potential buyers. Also to note, the curling iron was heavy. The handle for the clamp also sticks out very far and gets very hot which makes for a bit of a burn risk as you get the iron closer to your face. It's very much a middle of the pack curling iron. There was nothing that blew me out of the water and nothing that I absolutely hated. It looks really nice, the design is pretty. The piece I appreciated most was that the cord swivels out of the bottom. You are free to swivel and spin any direction without the cord getting stuck or hitting you or bunching up. That was great. This barrel size is perfect for how I typically style my curls. I usually curl and then have loose curls all day. I will say, my hair did not hold the curls as well as usual. It was a bit more challenging to get the ends curled without a heat glove. It would be advantageous to have a heat glove when using this curling iron, just for the ends. It was very easy to clip hair on the barrel, just skipping the ends. I do like the temperature options and that it did not take long to warm up. I was able to curl all of my hair without it cooling off. I would love it if there was an auto shut off timer. I have kids and adhd, I typically do pretty well but knowing I have that safety net brings me a sense of calm when purchasing items. Overall, I found nothing wrong with this curling iron but nothing really made it stick out from the crowd either.

It is easy to use and heats up in a timely matter… I think! With that being said, the light does not blink indicating it is ready, so I found that annoying. Overall the curling iron seems like a normal curling iron to me. It didn’t do anything exceptional that any other curling iron would do. My curls seemed the same as with others, and lasted as long as others too.

I really wanted to like the Hot Tools 1 1/4 gold curling iron because it’s lightweight, warms and cools quickly, and looks nice. However, the first few times I used it, my curls were beautiful at first, but fell completely out of my hair by the time I was done curling. I do have fine hair and did wash and fully dry my hair prior to curling while using the Hot Tools curl protector mousse. I had better luck with the curls staying when my hair was dirty and had product in it so I’d recommend using it in that manner for you fine haired gals. I was also disappointed that it didn’t have an auto shutoff feature. I do want to note that I was given this hair care item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Happy curling!

I received this product through the Stellar Prodcut review panel, many thanks to them! I have curled my hair with many curling irons previously, unfortunately my hair does not hold curls very well. I have semi wavy hair that does not like to stay styled. Sadly, this curling iron was no different. I gave it multiple tries, however, I feel like the barrel may have been a tad too big for my hair. I was not impressed! Maybe I’ll have to give it another try, but so far, it has not been my favorite curling iron.

Although it did heat up quickly, I felt like I needed to turn the heat up multiple times while curling my daughter’s hair. The curls did not stay after releasing the hair wrapped around the barrel. It has a sleek design and is lightweight, but unfortunately did not work well enough to justify the price.

The gold barrel adds a nice touch and it looks very sleek and shiny. It heats up really quickly which I appreciated. The curls stayed well in my hair. I have hair that hits at my shoulder blades and I found the barrel to be a little too long and cumbersome. I also had a hard time with the cord getting tangled up and twisted. It curled my hair well but it took longer than I am used to with my other curling iron. I feel like this would be better for people with really long hair. I am in the process of growing my hair out and will keep trying it to see if it gets easier as my hair gets longer. It is a high quality product, but not my favorite.

I have thick hair, and the Hot Tools curling iron did not get hot enough for my curls to hold. Despite using the highest setting, which usually works with my regular iron, the curls fell flat by the time I finished the other side of my head. It has a sturdy build, and the gold barrel looks stylish and luxurious. The curling iron warmed up fairly quickly, but it didn't maintain its heat well during the curling process. In summary, while the Hot Tools curling iron has some appealing features and a beautiful design, it didn't perform as well as I had hoped for my thick hair.

Hot Tools Pro Signature 1 ¼" Gold Curling Iron looks beautiful in my bathroom. However, I found that this curling iron takes a long time to warm up. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and I found I needed to curl in very small sections to get the curl to be anything more than a slight indent. So, for starters… I have pretty fine hair. I’m a mousse girlie, I like volume, I’m a fan of some curls. I’ve tried small barrels, bigger barrels, wands, the works. To be honest, this one was just okay for me. It’s nicely made and I love the matte finish on the handle. I only need the lowest heat setting but it heats up quickly and stays warm through the time it took to curl my hair. I tried the mousse as well, which was super thick and luxurious compared to any other similar products I’ve used. It smelled absolutely amazing and I only needed a tiny bit of the product for my hair. I thought the heat protectant was great which I definitely need. I was able to get a pretty good curl which I brushed out into nice casual waves. I think overall, this is probably better for thick hair girls. It worked nicely, just not my favorite.
