I used to be a cosmetologist and this was the brand that I preferred and always used. Although this is just a tab bit different than the one I prefer, I feel like it works great! This size barrel really is ideal for someone who wants looser curls. I recommend getting a smaller size barrel if you have longer hair or want tighter curls because my hair length is long and the curls did not hold very well. It heats up very fast and hold heat well. The material of the barrel is great and does not snag. The cord swivels so the cord does not really get twisted like some other brands. It definitely held the heat and curled my hair very quickly. I used this to style my hair with loose beachy curls and also to set my hair to get more of a blow out style. I highly recommend this curling iron and it’s a brand that I have used for a very long time and this curling iron is worth the investment. I have Asian hair and on most days, my curls do not last. However, I tried this Hot Tools Pro Signature 1 ¼" Gold Curling Iron and it’s a game changer! My curls now last the entire day and they stay bouncy and soft throughout. I love that the temperature also isn’t too hot that it fries my hair, leaving a weird smell after. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall, I liked this curling iron. I have a lot of hair, and it is on the long side. This product is lightweight, which allowed me to do the back of my head without my arms getting super tired. I typically use a barrel with no clamp, and I feel like I have been missing out because I forgot how easy it makes curling my hair. The barrel heated evenly, kept its heat, warmed up quickly, and I like how it had a switch to turn off the item. Occasionally in the past, I have missed the off button because I have attempted to click it too quickly. With the switch, I know for sure when I flip the switch that it is off. I was able to make nice curls, and loved the look when I brushed it out. The only thing I was not really happy about is that I found that it snagged my hair between the clamp and the barrel. It has been a LONG time since I have used a curling iron with a clamp, so it may be user error. But I will be trying it again a few times to see if my hair continues to snag. I think overall, this is a great product for the price and worth trying.

I received this curling iron to try from the stellar review panel. This curling iron has a very sleek, lightweight design. It is not too much to hold while curling your hair, and I have a lot of hair! I tried beachy curls and bigger bouncy curls and both turned out great. The curling iron heated up rather quickly and stayed hot the whole time. I have very thick hair and found that I needed it to be on almost the highest setting for my curls to hold better. However, the barrel size seemed just right for medium /long hair length. The curls lasted a few days! Overall, I would definitely recommend this curling iron to others!

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this hair care item. Overall impression of the curling iron was ‘pretty’! I love the gold, I’ve never used a gold barrel before. It wasn’t heavy, pretty average weight but it also didn’t feel cheap. It warmed up in no time which is nice! No one has time to wait ages for their curling iron to warm up. It kept its heat the whole time of use. I was surprised at the not so long length of the barrel as it’s advertised to be an “extended barrel” I would describe it as regular length barrel and nothing extended about it. I have pretty long hair so it wasn’t as easy as I anticipated as I normally use an extended barrel iron. My hair also was pretty sticky when running through it trying to curl, it would grab and pull my hair quite a bit between the clamp and the barrel. I even tried another time with different hair products in my hair thinking it could be the product and not the curling iron but it was still just as sticky and not smooth at all. I was able to successfully curl my hair, it just was a bit if a struggle with a shorter barrel and sticky curling iron material. I’ve included before, after and styled pictures

Its very nice and the temperature can be adjusted from 280°-430°. I have shoulder-length hair, and when wearing wigs, I usually keep them at 16". This large curler is great for when you want to make big curls in your hair. I haven't had any issues with this tool. Also, when curling my hair, I add a little mousse, gel, or heat protectant beforehand. For me, it helps the curl stay in shape and last longer. I love how easy itis to use and it doesnt take long for your hair to curl up. The design of this curler and how smoothly the clamp opens and closes is great. The temperature dial is very easy to operate, and there is an on and off switch to operate the curler. The material used is very nice and comfortable in the hand.

The gold is cute, and if you’ve ever curled long hair you know a rotating cord is an absolute necessity so you don’t need to worry about getting tangled up or burning the cord. Heat up speed was adequate and I was able to use this curling iron on less than maximal heat (around 350) to curl my wavy/curly hair from dry but not blown out. The extended barrel allowed me to get curl all the way to the roots even when using larger pieces. Overall easy to use and a good basic curling iron. Barrel size was good for smoothing out pieces and putting in a nice loose wave. Would recommend to friends!

I received this product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel for an honest review. I've always loved Hot Tools and once again they didn't disappoint. I have very long hair, almost to my butt, so it would have been nice to have a longer barrel, so it took a little longer to curl my hair. But they do make an extended barrel for that reason. I did need to turn the heat up for my hair to hold a curl, but I like that the option is there to use a lower heat setting. Overall, I like the product and will use again and again!

This curling iron was a great size (1 1/4”) for my medium-long hair to achieve loose, beachy curls. My hair hits my mid-upper back and is textured/naturally wavy, so it does tend to hold curl well but I did feel like my curls didn’t last quite as long with this one. It would heat up quickly and I did not have to use an extremely high temperature to achieve the results I was looking for, which was a plus for my bleached hair! It’s lightweight and easy to use without getting tangled in the cord. Overall would recommend if looking for large/loose curls.
