[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been having professional laser hair removal treatments over the last few years on my face and have been happy with the results. I have wanted to do some other areas, but haven’t because of the cost. The Braun Silk-Expert Pro 5 IPL has given me the opportunity to try at home treatments to see if I get the same results for a much lower cost. I have fair skin and dark hair follicles. I’m treating the hair on my legs currently. The unit is lightweight and easy to hold. You simply place it against your skin and press the button, then move onto the next area and do the same. It feels like the snap of a rubberband depending on which intensity you are using, but is not painful. I have found that you can treat a large area pretty quickly. I haven’t owned long enough to speak to long-term results because laser hair removal takes multiple treatments over a period of months, but I have definitely noticed the hair coming back finer. I’m excited to see if I can get rid of the hair permanently!

Between my husband and myself, it is working very well. I'm on treatment 5 and my husband is on treatment 2. I notice a significant decrease in hair growth. I see pitting starting on the heads already but I am not finding replacement heads ~ this can't be the case, tell me you can buy replacement heads.

Its been only 3 weeks and and i can already see the reduction in hair growth, definitely go for it. Only reason I didn't give 5 star is it doesn't work on dark skin(private parts)

I am a man 61 yr old who hate belly and chest hair. After my 10 session I can say that my skin is like when I was a teeneger. Shaving create bumps. This device do the work as I expected. Just make your own law to clearly understand word by word the instructions and you will see good results. I gave it a try. Work with me. Let me put this in lines. Every person body and hormones could be the same as every one else but in diferent levels. So I say that in some persons work faster than other. On my own experience it is a good product. At the same time it did help my skin to look younger. Nothing you will lost by trying

I am Mexican and have thick, coarse black hair which is made worse by PCO. I had embarrassing facial hair and decided to give this a try after seeing some testimonials. It took about 10 weeks to see noticeable results but now I am free of sideburns and random chin hairs. I did this during winter when my skin tone is lightest and that might help. My skin got a little dry after using it for a few weeks but some vitamin C serum took care of that. Couldn't be happier! Unfortunately, one month after the year warranty ended, the device has begun to rattle and overheat quickly began rattling and overheating quickly - appears to be a common complaint - so it seems this device isn't built to last very long. I've started doing my armpits and legs with great results too. I recently went on a 10 days vacation where I didn't need to shave once.

I bought this on sale for $299 because I detest shaving and had too much anxiety for professional laser removal. I have l pale skin and dark brown hairs on legs, underarms and swimsuit area, blonde hair elsewhere. On week 5 currently, the legs have really started thinning out. Underarms haven’t noticed any difference yet. Swimsuit area there are patches where the hair isn’t growing. A successful start so far I’d say.

That’s right, it’s been TWO YEARS since I started using this IPL device. I now shave my legs once a month for the upkeep. Arm pits and knees are more stubborn so I do those every 2 weeks. Bikini area is every 2-4 weeks. I have super thick hair strands that poke like crazy as soon a it grows a tiny bit so I looove the smoothness. What kept my review at 4 stars (really 3.5 but that wasn’t an option) instead of 5 is that my device got so hot after one year of use that I have to take a 10 min break after just one lower leg. You would think that the maintenance sessions would be quick but the intense burn is a serious problem. I’m now looking to replace my Braun with a different brand.
