You can feel just a little snap when it goes off, but it's not painful at all. My only complaints is, that it's large in my small hands and the flashing of lights can easily set off migraines, I need to use this with sunglasses on to help, but it's doable. I really like the idea of not having to shave as much, so I will keep using this. This also comes in a beautiful case!

I was super excited for this product. It was so easy to use and not super painful. Whether it be laser hair removal, IPL to remove sunspots, or Broad Band Light treatment for a more luminous complexion, if it’s noninvasive, count me in! I have previously treated myself to professional laser hair removal for the underarms, upper lip, and bikini areas. None of which have withheld the test of time. So, imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to try Braun’s new Silk·expert Pro 5 IPL! The Silk-Expert Pro 5 by Braun is an FDA-cleared, and dermatologist-endorsed IPL hair removal system. It features SensoAdapt technology, automatically adapts to your skin tone 80x per second, and adjusts the flash intensity accordingly. A treatment schedule is included for optimal results, the device should be used once a week for 12 weeks. After the initial treatment phase (12 treatments), we recommend the device is used once a month or as required. It came in a beautiful grey leather case, and I like how they included a Venus Gillette Swirl razor for you to shave with the day before treatment to ensure there is no hair on the surface area. Included are 2 heads, the standard head, and the precision head - ideal for smaller & sensitive areas. You would use the stamping method for these hard-to-reach areas. Which is achieved by pressing and instantly releasing the treatment button, permitting a single flash. For fast and efficient treatment of large areas, you would use the gliding method, pressing and holding the treatment button. The laser generates a warm sensation when the device flashes but is ultimately pain-free. There was one thing that was notably absent and a rather important thing at that! That is eye protection. Something that is stressed with utmost importance each time I receive any laser treatment. Why would at home be any different? Upon inquiring with the manufacturer, Braun, they stated that IPL is “perfectly safe for your eyes. There's no need to wear goggles when using the device. The skin contact sensors ensure that the device can only be triggered when in full contact with the skin.” In contrast, the included handbook warns you of the potential harm to your eyes (potentially leading to loss of vision) and recommends you look away from the device when pushing the treatment button. I firmly believe that eye safety is of utmost importance. Ones sight is not something to be skimped on. I found this to be a great option to maintain improvements between professional treatments.

It is easy enough to use, but it feels like a lot of learning needs to happen to use this thing correctly. It has a fairly lengthy list of cautions in the instructions, but I have found a lot more information on the internet about tips and tricks for using an IPL. It goes get pretty hot, makes sense, but is sort of disconcerting. The case is very nice and it looks very high end overall.

I have only been using it a couple weeks but so far so good! The directions included are clear and easy to follow, and the tool is very user friendly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This IPL laser is such a game changer from my previous laser. The IPL lasers are gentler, and I don’t feel a thing when I’m using the device. I’ve been trying to use the product as instructed but I haven’t seen much of a difference yet. I do know these things take a while. I mainly focus on my legs because I can tolerate a lot in that area. The light of this laser is crazy bright. I feel like I need some special goggles or something. One feature I love about the product is I can just drag it up my legs. Makes the process go much faster. So far, I have been enjoying using the product, it’s basically pain free and it’s really simple to use. Great instructions!

If it keeps working like this I do believe if I keep using it for the specified amount of time it will do as it says and I won't have much if any hair growing back. It's pretty easy to use and I love the storge case it comes with keeps it safe and clean. Most important rule to make sure you get the hair off the section your going to do to prevent burns. Overall, I like it I think it's a huge time and money saver.
