I bought a cheap one and never used it because I was worried it would hurt. Then I found out Braun sold one that has been FDA approved for home use and decided to give it a try. I'm Caucasian with pale skin but have pesky chin hairs that I shave every morning. Used my new Braun IPL and I'm certain after a few more treatments, I won't have to shave anymore! It takes a few tries to get the hang of it and it's not completely painless but definitely tolerable and TOTALLY worth it! If you've ever been curious if it works, I am here to tell you...just do it! Highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so glad I tried Braun Silk·expert Pro 5 IPL. It has the look and feel of high quality. It is beautifully packaged and comes with an attractive bag to store everything in. This presentation makes this product nice for gift giving as well as personal use. Good instructions are included with the equipment. It is easy to follow the directions. Operating the device is straightforward and simple. I was nervous before using it because I thought it could be painful. I put the unit on the lowest setting and didn't feel anything. I turned it up one setting and still didn't feel anything. On the highest setting I just felt a little heat that disappeared right away. My skin has not had any problems, not even redness, after use. It is easy to use and quickly become comfortable in operating the unit. I do recommend looking away from the flashing as it is bright even when pressed into the skin. I am excited to have this device, that it is so comfortable and easy to use. I know it is going to be a huge help with some concerns I have had recently.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying I’m an ideal candidate for IPL hair removal. I have fair skin and brown hair. I started noticing a slower growth rate in hair after a few uses so I know it’s working! Not much pain (I was expecting it). Most areas it doesn’t hurt at all but on some more sensitive areas like underarms, feels like a small pinch on high setting. I started lowering the strength a bit in this area. Cannot wait to continue using this and I hope it’s continues working as it has so far.

I started using this device to target those areas and within one month those patches were significantly reduced. The device is very quick to use, feels like a warm light on the skin, and was safe for my medium/olive skin tone. Highly recommend!!

Right out of the package it was easy to use and everything you need is included. The best part is the beautiful case - it's wonderful to put everything together - less likely to misplace a part. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was scared to use this at first but the directions were very in-depth and made me feel knowledgeable enough to use this. It worked so quickly and well on my legs. I love the quickness of flashes that make doing large areas easy. The sensor is so helpful to let me know if I’m holding it correctly or if the skin is too light. Make sure that if you have a lot of tattoos in the area you want to use it, it may not work. Sadly with a sleeve I can’t use it on my arms. The process is simple and I’m already seeing less hair growing back week two.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For a reference I have medium colored brown hair that is naturally curly and fair colored skin. I have wanted to try the salon laser treatments but never could get past the cost for it! I wasn’t sure how this machine would work for me especially considering a majority of the ingrown hairs I would get would tend to be curly hair trapped under the skin. I expected the IPL to just help limit how quickly the hair was growing but it exceeded my expectations by also limiting the amount of ingrown hairs I would develop. I have only been using the laser treatment for 2 weeks and I notice the hair that is regrowing is a lot finer and a lot more slow growing than it used to be. My bikini line for the first time I can ever remember is SMOOTH! As advised with the instructions I wouldn’t use this deviceh in any area that is inflamed at the time of treatment. I don’t notice much for pain at all anywhere it just feels a little warm to the skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hair removal device was very easy to use and the set up guide was helpful. You make sure to shave first, then plug in the device, push the button for it to warm up, and press it to the skin you want to remove hair. I used this on my armpits and legs, by holding the button and gliding over the areas. There are three sensitivity levels, I used it at the medium and low levels. The low level just felt warm but no pain at all. Medium was a little hotter for my preference. This blinks with red flashes of light as it works on your hair follicle and seems to work pretty well and is easy and painless to use. I'm going to continue using this once a week for up to 12 weeks for permanent hair removal. So far, it's been about 5 days since I used the machine and I think my hair is growing back slower than normal, as I typically get hair growth within 36 hours. Overall it seems like a high end painless hair removal method, which is perfect for me. I definitely recommend this!
