[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product just over a week ago and have used it every other day since then! I have always wanted a gadget like this and was very excited to receive it. Pros: all the blades are stored in/under the slicer which makes it convenient for storage. You have to unlock the top to get to the gadgets. The knob also provide the ability to change the size of the slices and the coalor coded depths on the side line up to the recommended size depending on the blade in use. Easy to clean and the hand shield is large enough, it helps me to know I won't injure myself. I was able to use this on tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, zucchini, and strawberries. This product is compact enough it fits in a drawer and does not take up much space. Cons: I wish it had a sleeve for storage as it did make me nervous while handling it in storage with the open blade on the top. The knob was almost stuck and doesn't like going to the last "orange" or deepest setting for the slicer which I wasn't sure if I was getting all 4 sizes of the slices during my use. Overall I would recommend this product to everyone and am enjoying using it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my mandolin today and I have already put it to good use. I wanted to make sweet potato fries and the French fry blade made quick work of the potatoes!!

Very good product. Well built. Clear instructions. Used it to slice potatoes for scalloped potatoe receipe and it was easy to use. Would buy again.

It worked as expected, Just what I wanted as an occasional user. The 'compressor' on the slider is just fine.

Cutting: cuts cleanly without effort. Even onions slice beautifully. Cleaning: So easy to clean with a brush. A few strokes, rinse and done. Storage: Everything has a place inside the mandoline with the exception of the finger guard. A way to attach the finger guard to the unit would be the only improvement I would want with this. I've had mine for a couple years and I love it. I gave away my more challenging high-end mandoline and kept this one. I'm not a pro and I just want quick and done.

This mandoline does have several pieces, but they are carefully stored on the main slicing component - and easy to remove from storage and install on the slicer. The blades are very sharp and sliced my veggies quick and easy! Also, a snap to take apart and throw in the dishwasher (the 4 blades are hand wash, but the rest is top rack dishwasher safe) - and I reassembled in about a minute. I only disliked the guard, because (like most guards) it doesn't hold small veggies well. I bought a glove to use for those situations. Very happy with this purchase.

Must go slow and purposeful but great

I got this for my wedding and have used it almost every other day since. It makes cutting veggies super quick. We like to make vegetable chips and this allows us to have the perfect thickness for each type of vegetable. Was nervous from other reviews saying there were too many parts? But I think it is simple and quick to use. There is the unit and then the hand protector piece. Works perfectly for the price.

I almost did not buy this because of a couple of negative reviews. Decided to try it anyways, and I'm glad I did. Take a few minutes to really read the instructions and practice with an extra vegetable. Once you get the hang of it, you will love it too!

The secret to this item, or any mandoline, is to take time to learn how to use it. I was frustrated at first and was going to return it. Instead I took 30 minutes to practice on some vegetables and removing and replacing blades etc. It was worth the time. It works great. I have a hand held mandoline but this is much sturdier and safer to use. For the price and amount used, it is worth the price.
