The process itself wasn’t complicated, but I feel like I received a dud. I couldn’t get the pieces to click into place, for starters. Everything would come together, but it was definitely a struggle. Once I began application, it felt like the cartridge wasn’t mixing properly. It looked like the developer and dye didn’t mix. Looking at the cartridge after finishing up, I can’t say that my feeling was wrong. One side of the cartridge had a use divet. The other side, however, was untouched. This DID NOT work for my ends. I have super thick hair almost to my butt; I could not get this applied through my ends, and I fought tooth and nail. Application was patchy at best, non existent at worst. I had to use my hands and a dye brush to try to finish working the product through. Insofar as the formula: I lost a LOT of hair during the rinse phase. The dye was fairly stinky. My hair after use feels fried, and it didn’t even work to make me blonde. I got all of the cons and NONE of the pros of hair dye. And yes, it didn’t even dye me blonde. I was going from a 5 at the darkest, to a red 8 at the ends. I was supposed to be at an 8.5 ash blonde after application. Instead my hair looks DARKER in most spots. It also looks even more red than before I started on my ends. My darker hair towards the roots is far darker now. Overall, I can’t recommend this. Terrible product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The directions were easy and I thought this was great while I did my roots. Very easy. But then I went to do the rest of my hair and it stopped working. I did all the troubleshooting things to no avail. I had to stop trying because I had to rinse my roots. And now I have two tone color hair and I have to go out and buy more hair color. I wouldn’t recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dye absolutely did nothing in my hair, I started as a light brown and got a blonde dye and it did nothing. The color of my hair after using the product was still the same. It was easy to use but not something I would ever use again even free.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although this product came in a sturdy two-pice box, it's not worth the price. When I started the application process, it seemed to be easy, and then the device started malfunctioning after doing a small section of my hair. After repeatedly trying to get the device to work, I gave up and washed my hair so I wouldn't end up looking like a skunk. The smell wasn't bad, and I couldn't say what the color would look like because I was scared to wait any longer. I didn't want to ruin my hair. I would not recommend or buy again.

After ensuring a full charge and following the instructions to get the color to flow, nothing comes out of the nozzles. Trying multiple times nothing comes out but the color level indicator has dropped as though product has been used. Would love to try a new one if possible!

This is a wonderful idea, manifested. I'm giving it one star because the product does not allow for the customer to combine their own color(s) and developer(s), forced to purchase the color cartridge. I was interested until I read this part. Teachable moment, L'Oreal... If there was an option to chose your own color product, you would have multiplied you customer base. Maybe a near future consideration?

I really liked the idea of it being able to get every area and fully saturate the root since that is the biggest issue I have when coloring my hair. Unfortunately it didn’t properly dispense the hair color and I couldn’t test if the hair color worked. I troubleshooted it many times and even asked my partner for help and he tinkered with it for awhile but we could not get the hair dye to mix together. I love the concept but this was just a miss for me.

It leaks everywhere very difficult to use

Don't fall for this. Totally useless, I bought the dark brown to cover my grays (I don't have a lot but they’re starting to show on the side). I left the cool or on for 40 mins, hoping it will cover the grays, but as soon as I washed and dried my hair, it looked like I didn’t dye my hair at all. My gray strands look exactly as they were prior to coloring. Total waste of time and money. There’s nothing special abt the device too. I can just mix the color myself and use a brush, same thing.

I feel like the cartridge is defective. At first, nothing came out, then after I poked the cartridge opening part a few times with a thin medal stick, only the white developer came out when I turned the tube on. I went on reddit to see reviews and I guess someone mentioned the same thing happened to them with 3 different cartridges. I was getting so frustrated and I didn’t want to waste the color so I took the cartridge out of the device, cut the cartridge open and dumped the color and the developer into a bowl and applied the color with a contour makeup brush. The color mix was a lot more watery than the traditional ones. It was messy to apply. However, the results were actually good. It covered all my gray roots. And my hair was shiny. Some of the box colors made me feel oily after coloring but not this one. So it was good color mix but very bad design. This is my second attempt. I will give it one more try with the device. I would buy the cartridge and cut it out again just to use the color. But the device was a complete waste of money.
