Update 2/24/17: Wore this belt yesterday playing golf. I'm taking the rating down from 5 to 3 stars because the latch mechanism slips. I'm guessing it's not as deep as the notches on a Nexbelt (which never slipped). Love the look of the belt; it will be a regular with my dress clothes but it fails in high motion activites such as golf. Been using Nexbelts for a few years and went searching for a replacement on Amazon. The Marino brand popped up along with others. Looked at the ratings and decided to give it a try. The belt and buckle arrived on time and in some very nice packaging. The box is very suitable as a gift box if you decide to give one of these as a gift. In addition to the belt and buckle, there was a very nice key fob included; BONUS I didn't expect. I use these belts mostly when playing golf. I love the almost infinite adjustability available (versus holed belts). This one is probably more suited as a dress belt as it's not as wide as a Nexbelt. That's not to say it won't work as a golf belt; just better sized to go with slacks in a work environment. The buckle is attractive and would go with any combination of colors. Belt itself was easy to cut to size and attached easily to the buckle. I'd recommend this belt to anyone.

I like the ratcheting system, less wear and tear on the belt than a traditional buckle. The belt itself is decently made, but not actually 100% genuine leather as advertised. My only real gripe is that the bucke didn't last. Stopped holding in less than 6 months. Can't get a replacement buckle, so the belt is basically useless at this point.

Narrower belt than expected. Got a buckle that appears almost black, not nickel colored

Wouldn't recommend. Locking mechanism is a bit stiff, though feels secure when on (although is difficult to remove if too tight, as others mentioned), but the way the release lever is actually built ruins it. When you lift the lever to release the belt, part of the toggle pushes the belt face into the back of the buckle, which when coupled with you drawing the belt back out, scratches the living hell out of the leather. Picture attached is fresh out of the box, having only inserted and removed the belt roughly 10 times to test it out. Needs to be redesigned in my opinion, or at least needs some sort of scuff reducing backing on the buckle

I purchased two of these belts. i really liked them at first but after wearing them a dozen times the plastic ratchet won't stay closed. I would not purchase again.

I'm in the process of losing weight, so these kinds of belts are great for me. However, this particular brand the leather scuffed at the tip almost immediately. Wore it maybe 4 times? What's worse is I cut it to the same spot I have my other 2 at and it just barely fits me. Anyone who has these types of belt knows that they're perforated at certain spots for easy clean up and to keep the leather sturdy.

Other than that a really good looking belt and buckle. Pull to hard and it's hard to unlock.

To be honest I just wanted another belt. It’s a little thinner (height I mean) than I was expecting.

nice belt. Loved it at first but in about 9 months its started falling apart.

On a positive note, this is a lovely belt. The material is excellent, and the concept for how it buckles is quite ingenious. Basically, you get a very long belt, measure, and then cut it to your size. In fact, you can cut it a tad long and adjust further later on (though once you cut short you cannot make longer again). Instructions are not great, but it is easy to figure out how to best cut the belt, and if you make a mistake, the manufacturer will replace the belt. However, despite the belt being a great idea, and high quality, I had real trouble with it. The first belt I got "slipped" in that I would adjust it to the size I want, and then it would slip and get longer. I'd reset, and it would continue to slip. I contacted the manufacturer and the customer service is OUTSTANDING - they immediately replaced the belt (not wanting the original back). However, the second belt did the same thing and I have come to the conclusion that there is something inherently wrong with the buckle, though perhaps it is the style I purchased. Again, I contacted customer service and again they were REALLY GREAT - the actually refunded my money (via Amazon) with no questions asked. Bottom line is I wish my experience with this belt was better since the product is really a good idea. And I always like to support companies that care enough to respond quickly, positively, and effectively, as this one does.
