The belt has a thin layer of leather over a thick material of man-made material. Belt is not, Made with high quality premium genuine leather.

This belt is very nice looking and I bought 2 about a year ago. The brown belt I bought spilt right in half while I was wearing it last week, I have not seen that from a leather belt. I am giving it another try and bought another brown. Will see

The belt and craftsmanship are fine. I still use my belt but the ratchet doesn't work as well as other belts I've owned. Getting it to catch correctly doesn't always happen. I'm a large waist - 38" - and this may have something to do with it. I need a belt to hold up my pants. Not just for looks or style.

I bought this back in 2016 (4 years ago from this post) and love this ratchet. I've tried going back to other belts and it's just not the same. That said, now the belt has started fraying pretty badly and I'd like to replace just the belt, but from the answers it looks like they don't sell replacement belts only; so I'd have to throw out a perfectly fine ratcheting buckle, which is unfortunate. I've removed a star since the belt frays in a pretty grotesque fashion (unlike other belts I've owned for decades) and another star since I can't just buy a replacement belt.

UPDATE: I was contacted by the seller after my original review, and they offered to ship a replacement at no charge. The replacement arrived in good condition, and is a nice belt. They said this must have been a warehouse issue with the mold. So, in all, customer service was good, but I'm glad I wasn't going through this the day before Christmas. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Awful moldy smell coming from the box and the belt itself. Not plastic, or chemicals, or whatever... no - I know mold when I smell it. The box was taped together with clear tape on the sides, and the finish came off in pieces when I tried to peel it off. It's just pressed paper. The belt itself is real leather, seen from the cross cut on the end of it, but the key chain is not, and doesn't quite match. If it wasn't for the mold, I would have thrown it away before gifting the belt, but there's a cut out in the box for it, so I would have had to repackage the whole thing. Bought this as a Christmas gift, but no way am I giving that to anyone. What a disappointment. Now I have to take the time to return it, and my hands smell.

I previously purchased a belt from this company that said it was 1 3/8 inches wide as this one does. However that one was that width. This belt is only 1 1/8 inches wide, sure 1/4 of an inch may not seem like it is that big of a difference but I much prefer the other belt over this one. unfortunately I need it for a wedding and have no time to return it. If you like a belt that is 1 1/8 inches wide, this is a great option. I really like the locking mechanism and it seems like good quality.

Noticeable imperfections on the belt, upon arrival. Otherwise a good quality belt!

It advertises as a sturdy dress belt... it is very flimsy. I purchased this to conceal carry my gun in business attire. Well it is way too flimsy to work. Additionally I am left handed and the buckles only works if you are right handed or can use your pinky very well. I know you get what you pay for but this is disappointing in deed.

Colors are all different than the colors in the picture. Thought I was ordering dark brown, turned out to be a reddish brown. Thought I had purchased the medium brown turned out to be tan. Also, the buckles are heavy and the latching mechanism is hard to disengage. Time your bathroom runs appropriately

The belt looks nice but I never took it out of the packaging because the color is not was expecting. Not really sure if the fit or durability.
