Old type. The newer ones are WiFi not with a cable. I couldn't use it & I can't get anyone to talk too. Not the first time that i got a product that isn't what it advertise & couldn't get anyone to listen to me. Unless I can get a phone number or an email to a person, get me off your email list. I will be filling compaints with State & Federal agencies

It’s a discontinued product with no support that did not work.

I got it to connect once after almost a dozen tries and an hour later. Since that one connection I have not been able to connect to any wifi in over 10 different locations in different countries. Truly a piece of junk. I ended up just leaving it in one of the places I stayed. Big waste of money.

I bought this because my previous linksys died. I’ve had this exact same product and it works great IF you can get it set up correctly. I spent over 30 minutes trying to set this up. I reset the stupid thing multiple times. Once I get on the web page I’m told to move the extender to be in perfect range. as soon as I move the extender to a different outlet that’s it. I can’t get a connection back on my iPhone to finish the setup. This is ridiculous! I paid way too much money for this! I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong and I don’t have the patience to try and figure this out. These set ups are supposed to be easy and take maybe 10 minutes. But this model refuses to be set up, and unfortunately since I bought this in October and it’s now February, I can’t return this. So save yourself the money. And it’s a LOT of money.

I used a Linksys extender a few years ago (Linksys RE7000). It worked well and I used it with the same smart home devices I am using now. I have been trying to use it again with no luck, because when I try to set it up, it rejects my network password. I have checked and rechecked the password and am 100% sure I am entering it correctly. I Googled this problem and saw that others have had it as well, but I wasn't able to make any of the fixes work (and neither were others). When I called tech support, the technician told me that the problem is that I don't have an internet firewall and that due to the cybersecurity risk, neither he nor anyone else can help me. I don't know any residential user who has an internet firewall! We all just rely on the security of our modems and passwords. He pulled up a list of local and foreign IP addresses that were active and told me the "foreign" IP addresses were people in other countries who were accessing my computer -- not accurate at all, it just means what my devices are connecting to! It was a very weird conversation that was made worse by a terrible connection. So now I have spent money on an extender that I can't get help with, and will have to buy another. Needless to say it won't be from Linksys!

Took many times to get setup but I don't see any change in wifi coverage... i actually think its slowed down my internet speeds
Randy
Cannot get it to work correctly! Does not hide you, stays open for others to use! Had no problem with an older RE7000.
